You won't get an honest view of DAZ Studio from this forum as it is heavily Poser biased.I would suggest you take a look at the forums on the DAZ site for a much more balanced view.

I'm not a lawyer, but I think , if you purchase something like software and agree to an EULA, then you are bound by the terms of that as a contract between the seller and yourself. If you then break the terms of the EULA you open yourself to the risk of civil proceedings ( aka whoever can hire the most expensive lawyer wins ).

I usually refer to a well thumbed copy of Roger Mellie's Profanisaurus, as and when occasion dictates ;-)

I can't comment on the OPs situation, but I agree that all the piracy is very damaging and very wrong. Sadly it seems more and more people are basically stealing and think nothing of it.
We had riots here in the UK earlier in the year and people were smashing shop windows and helping themselves to anything they could carry. I can't help thinking that all the piracy of films, music, software, etc puts into peoples minds that it's ok to steal, so long as you don't get caught. ;-(
I suppose there have always been outlaws/pirates going back centuries but the romatic view that these are all Robin Hoods, good, honest people stealing from the rich and giving to the poor to fight injustice, is about as far from the truth as you can get.

Thats very true Penguinisto. If I had a dollar for everytime someone claims to speak for 'the majority' in these forums I could retire tomorrow. Oh and I'm sure I speak for most of the users when I say that. lol.

I completely agree with blondie9999 on this. Having made some clothing for Gen4 figures in the past I have recently tried making some clothing for Genesis figures, and converting things from Gen4. Not just to the base Genesis figure, but to fit some of the shapes. It is a LOT easier to make things for Genesis.
One of the things that make it easier is the DS4 collision detection which works on clothing, and will automatically fix pokethrough.

Regarding zips, I think we should keep in mind that 24 'voters' represents maybe about 0.003% of the DAZ customer base, if it reaches 100,000 mark. DAZ needs to do whatever it thinks is best for the majority.
Having said the above I would also personally prefer ZIP files. I would be happy with an executable which requires that I actively accept the EULA, and if I accept the EULA the executable then creates a ZIP file in the same directory.
Thread: How to reduce the "weight" of a model in Poser without quality loss ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You might want to take a look at 'Atangeo Balancer'. It preserves UV's and can also preserve edge counts so that grouping welds still function on Poser figures.
There is a demo and a free version if you want to try it. I used it some time ago and was very pleased with the quality of it.

I am kind of curious why SM implemented weight mapping on Poser.... I mean for what? They have no weight mapped figures apart from the very basic Ryan and Alyson and I don't see high end users being interested in those, hardly any users are interested in them.
And the export options to MAX etc, again I ask for what? If you don't have figures to export then what do you have.
Seems to me like they are not using joined up thinking over at SM.

Most likely YES.
I am along time Poser user, since version 2. I tried DS3 but didn't really have any motivation to learn it properly as I had Poser.
I upgraded to DS4 and Poser 2012 since the cost of both upgrades was reasonable. Since then I have put some effort into learning DS4, and found I am getting more out of the DS4 upgrade than I did out of the Poser upgrade. Since upgrading both I have run up DS4 almost every day, Poser 2012 about eight times.

Following on from what Joe says above..
I think one of the really important aspects of DS4/Genesis is that subdivision and smoothing is carried out after any change in posing, so any imperfections in the weightmapping are smoothed over dynamically.

Different users are going to have differnet ideas about what constitutes the 'ideal' female figure.
Fashion designers would want an 8.5 heads tall leggy model.
Fantasy artists are going to want something with muscles so it can wield a sword
'Realism' artists are going to want an 'attractive woman in the street'
And it seems, based on forum posting a good proportion of users want anything so long as it has inflatable breasts and genitals! lol
Thread: What was this and why is it no longer for sale? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I bought this and I can confirm it works very very well. As you can see it has five stars. I never saw any negative comments about it. It was discussed over at DAZ and the product manager there was very positive and impressed by it.
If I was to speculate I would suggest either
There is a better version being released
or
DAZ may have bought the rights to it and intend to sell it there
but I have no facts.

I believe the morph will move each vertex along a set vector, for a distance determined by the amount you dial up on the morph. Once the shirt is run through a simulation and it is a different shape, particularly the arms have rotated in your example pictures, so the starting point, and normal direction, for a lot of the vertices has changed.
When you apply your morph each vertex is moving relative to where it is, not where it was when you made the morph target. So you don't get the tiny object.
You might find one of the Python guru's could code something script to strip out the blue cloth, post simulation, but that's way outside my area of knowledge.
I have to sleep now but I wish you luck

I suspect the scaling morph can only move the vertices based on the shape before the simulation. The morph has no way of knowing the shirt is now a different shape than the one the morph was designed for.
As an alternative can you put the blue cloth into a different group? If so you could hide it using the visible option in the properties tab, the same way you can hide a bodypart on a figure.
