That is PA choice though. I regularly do more than that but not everyone does. The promo images can be as large as 1000x1300. But unless someone has a massive screen they do not show up that large. On the other hand, you have the editorial section here to add even more information or images here and better linking to a gallery.

I had one product that was here and I reworked and updated and moved to DAZ. Sales volume was about 3 to 1 higher at DAZ than it had been here. Other products have far outsold what I would have expected here based on past sales volume here. On the other hand they were DAZ only products so that factors into it. And yes that is post web move. I've never had any real issues with staff at either place. The testing process at DAZ seems less taxing than here, but you are less likely to get a flat "no" on products here.

I would think there is a difference between choosing to reformat your computer and screwing up a program install so much that you are forced to reformat your computer because of it.

Considering how many people have posted what an easy install it is..if you do have to reformat I wouldn't admit it to anyone.

It still may be the control. I was nearly in tears working on the M4 uniforms because no matter what they crashed studio 4 and I really wanted to do my promo images in it. And on top of that I would have bet money I was up to date on the control and everything else seemed to work fine. Then someone mentioned that they had had to update and I checked "just in case". And that fixed it.. I was pretty thrilled.

Do other optitex dynamics work for you? Or are these the only ones you have tried? Do you also have the cloth control..which is not the basic dynamics included with studio but the purchased add on? If you have that purchased item are you sure you have the most current version of the plug in? I've had crashes like that but only when I was using an older version of the cloth control.

You should be able to use anything created during the time studio 2 or 3 was current in studio 4. Even on things created for M4 or V4 on genesis. I don't think they can be conformed properly but they can still be used with an animated drape. Be sure to check the characters scale compared to the old character and uncheck everything below the word genesis in the collision tree (from hip down).

I simply do not believe that is true. I think they thought that all those hours of vidio tutorials would be suitable usage documentation. They seemed genuinely surprised that some people still wanted text documentation.

As to studio/pro going free I think they just did the math and saw that the marketing method of having studio free and focusing on content sales just simply made them more money because it generated more new users and more sales. And from what I can returning to the old way of doing it has been working.

I suspect the real issue was that different people have different learning styles. For many people a vidio tutorial is ideal. If that were not true there wouldn't be so many places that function solely to create and sell vidio tutorials/classes. My guess has always been that DAZ as a company is predominated by those type of learners. So for them the huge quantity of vidio tutorials they were turning out were not just adequate but ideal educational material. But some of us have more trouble processing audio information than others and written material becomes more important.

Not sure why anyone has an expectation that documentation by DAZ would preclude the need for tutorials by other people. Poser has had documentation and yet there are a bazillion tutorials (some pay for) on how to rig etc. There tends to be a big gap between informative material and educational material and not many programs come with the educational information. Nor do many use tricks/tips turn up in documentation simply because those are gleaned through actual use and experimentation.  

I just tried this with a skin that I actually thought had pretty darn good surface settings and saw a noticeable improvement. Thank you!

Uber2 will let you add another layer on top with not just its own transparency but also bump, displacement and if I remember correctly tiling variations.

Just so we are clear..Not believing someone or disagreeing, or being funny for that matter is considered bulling. But saying someone has failings as a professional or that someone else should "keep your mouth shut" is alright behavior?

Jazzmin, you seem to "know" an awful lot about what DAZ thinks and why they do things. Since your not a DAZ representative I have to assume that it is yet more speculation based on little or no solid information. Unless you can provide real proof like screen shots or quotes from someone within the company verifying it then it is simply your version of a rumor. Sounds like a big secret to have been able to keep with thousands of us installing hundreds of those over the years.

The biggest reason I think this is a bunch of BS is that if DAZ did have all that information for years and years don't you think we would have heard of them catching and prosecuting at least a few of the thousands of people who have stolen content over the years?

I've not heard one word one about the site change being the reason for a change to zips by the way. It may be simply that they have finally developed a compromise for those of us who didn't want zips and those who did. In this case the download manager thingy.
