Thread: More on copyright abuse of Poser pictures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Seems like there's a big under-current attitude of "it's okay for just us little-people". And definitely I'd say they feel like they're not really going to get in any trouble for it, so therefore "it's okay". That right there I'd say is the problem for anyone who wants to stop this activity. It seems that there's not much can be done that isn't a lot of effort on the part of the person trying to put a stop to it. Time and effort spent pursuing it ends up being far greater than the end result. Thus, the "big companies" only go after the "big violators making money at it". Ergo, it's "okay for us little people". Sorry to go philosophical here, but it ultimately comes down to a social issue. In our society is an attitude of 'it's okay if you don't get caught'. That, and respect for others and their belongings is way, way down. Until that changes - at a societal level - we're stuck with this issue.

What's a 'PSP tube'? (Sorry if this is like a really lame "where have you been" type question)

Looks pretty neat. It'll be interesting to see what people render with it. It kinda makes me think of that short-video where Wallace and Grommit go to the moon to get cheese. Not sure why it makes me think of that...

This is really cool stuff! Thankyou for making them. (now if my boss would just give me a raise so I could spend all the money I want to spend on MP items!!) If you ever had a desire to make a WW-II German King Tiger with the Porsche turret I'd buy it too.

Perhaps you could do ceiling edges ? Something that would be a (scale) four or five feet width section of the ceiling that sticks in from the walls overhead... ? That way you don't have to do a whole ceiling, but just a portion wich could be moved around to cover that little bit that shows. -?

I agree - usually there is at least a little bit of the ceiling that shows up. Also, I think it makes a difference in the lighting having a cieling. Maybe I just think it does and it's not really changing anything in the rendered image, but I think a ceiling does something to the ambience of the light in a room that gives it just that extra little touch of... something, lighting-wise.

Looks pretty cool! Will it have roof sections? What's in the pit - spikes, stakes, bubbling green ooze?

So are you thinking along the lines of... - a common folder (stuff same for all versions) - a P3/P4 version folder - a propack version folder - a P5 version folder ...presumably from which you would then combine say, the common and P5 version folders to place in the P5 runtime?

In answer to the e-mail I received (sorry, my reply e-mail to you bounced, BTW), the outfit is from Communion's Sumarai Pack.

I think the similarity of the name of the video is about as close as they come to being related. (grin). "Emperor's New Groove" Storyline Summary: The spoiled Aztec(?) Emperor named "Kuse-Kose" gets turned into a llama by his evil court advisor who wants his job. The friendly villager named "Pacha" helps him and saves the Emperor despite the emperor wanting to bulldoze his village away to make room for his new summer house (complete with water slide) birthday-gift-to-himself. The emperor learns that other people have value too and not to be so spoiled and selfish. The evil court advisor is defeated and has to join the local Junior WoodChuck chapter. The emperor gets turned back into a human and builds a much more modest summer home on the ajoining (unoccupied) hilltop. Everyone lives happily ever after. 8)

Hmmm. Hmmm. (eyebrow arches) Hmmm. (smile begins to form) (shoulder angel whispers - "oh, but that's not the way it's supposed to be done!" ) (shoulder devil whispers - "but it solves the immediate problem!") I'll give the renaming .cr2 to .pp2 in the props folder a try. That's one to spend some time testing though, I think. -asp1vip p.s.- we were watching "The Emperor's New Groove" last night (kids loved it) and that's where the shoulder-angel / shoulder-devil thing came from. ~~grin~~.

No worry about 'wild goose chases' if they are a great learning experience in the process! I've learned a lot from trying this. I know this can be done if I convert my prop to an actor/character (i.e.- .cr2). But it's a prop and I'd really prefer it to be in with the Props. Given the size of my libraries in Poser, it's kind of annoying to always be switching back and forth between the 'Characters' and 'Props' libraries. I just want my prop-things in the Props and my animals/people/creatures in Characters! (whine, whine, grumble, grumble!) I'm gonna keep trying to figure this out though.

Oh, forgot to post this - downloading will probably work best if one right-clicks on the link and selects the option to 'Save As'. Once saved, rename the file by removing the '.txt' filename extension. Then just drop it in a prop directory/folder of your choice.
