Its an issue from last update. It isn't that big a deal, as its only after I am done and have closed the program, THEN is when it crashes. According to Jenn, it's a thing that occurs when DSON is installed. And I do have DSON installed, still.

It's generally advised to disable your Anti Virus software while installing many of our programs. Including Poser. The last thing I want to have to do is dig Poser out of that blasted ProgramData (Windows DEFENDER puts things there!). Unfortunately, there is no way Ive found to suspend DEFENDER manually. Hints?? Win 7 Pro x64.

With you do decide to update, keep an eye on the PoserSupport.exe. I just noticed that extra Face Room files are being loaded for figures that don't exist as part of the Poser Content. Figures like Miki, Miki3, Tyler, Koji, Kevin, etc. head morphs are included in Poser. But where are the figures? I started a thread to see if anyone can provide me a direct answer.
All those Figures came with earlier versions of Poser. Starting with Poser 6 and Miki. Then Poser 7 and a bit later Poser Pro (7.0.4) with Miki 2 then 3, Tyler, etc. Yes all came with earlier versions, and I have all those and more. Lots more, in fact! I'll check the Head Room...we need a MAX! Max Headroom! LOL!

Hm.. Just checking, and the 11.3.818 also crashed on EXIT. Not at all while IN the program, just after exiting. Few seconds later I get the error dialog "Poser.exe has crashed, close the program?" Yes you idiot box, yes! wow, that's what we used to call TV's! Idiot Box. LOL! And yep I am using DSON.

Hey that's just being smart, folks! I have 6 SSD's, the boot is C: and never sees the online stuff, downloads, etc. I live on drive F: actually! LOL! The regular storage drive is E:. Downloads go to F:ArcsDownloads. And I sort things from there. Easy!

had no trouble with the 11.3.818 update just now. But I am in Win 7 64bit. I already know I will hate and despise being forced to run WIN10 on the new build I'll be working up next week. Being FORCED to update grates against everything GOOD about Life. I plan on loving 8 cores, 16 threads, 3 to 4 gHz and 32 gb DDR4 RAM though! :)

Thread: This is the death of Poser, if they never support DSON imorter | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
joker2000 - Poser doesn't actually NEED the DSON Importer now. It does need a specific module be written for loading the Genesis+ Figures, but Poser is totally capable of USING them. Now don't get all glum and down about this issue. As I live I will push for it. It IS needed and it IS doable and it SHOULD be done. Yes, all the Genesis Figures right alongside the HiveWire and Poser Figures. Gets us up to some 2 dozen now? C'mon with it.
I do believe that Poser's very existence will hinge on THIS one thing. That you HAVE to attract NEW users is definite. What we have today all around us shows me that THIS is what will get that. I know of people that hate using Studio, like using Poser, but feel totally compelled to use DS because one someone keeps stubbing their foot on this issue. WE NEED THIS. Period.

Yo Ghostman, I DID read it, and still have the request that POSER be able to read the DS format (props and Figures!) directly. Jen Blake can bash my old head in all she wants to and I will still insist this BE DONE. I do like and use La Femme and L'Homme, but prefer the whole look and feel of Genesis 2, 3 and 8. IN POSER !!!
Meanwhile, I am still using DSON and Genesis 2 a lot, alongside some of the Poser Figures and Gen4 DAZ Figures. And HiveWire. We have a lot of great stuff that simply didn't exist on the day Poser 6 was released. But Poser is capable of even better, and we know it.
Thanks for ALL your help, it is appreciated!
Michael

Thread: What Does the 21 April 11.3 Update Change? | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Hi folks, I dropped in to see about reporting a bug with PP 11.3.740 (PC, Win7 Pro 64). And find posts about a new update. Dunno if it will change anything for me, but the problem I have is PP 11.3 crashes while exiting (closing program), every time. But only when exiting. It does fine I think while in use, even loaded to the gills with items or empty sitting idle waiting patiently for me to do something with it. PP 11.3 has not crashed at any other time than on exit. Its why I took so long to look at reporting this bug or glitch. Will get this new update installed this weekend.

S'uup! Too late, I dood it. :( Then spent 10 mins swatting the pests, manually setting affinity to 3 cores on all surviving processes. Sigh. I gotta build a new box!

Thread: I encountered some strangeness when downloading new files | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Other than downloads from Rendo and DAZ running slow (670 kbytes per sec vs 2.5 megabytes per sec normal) I ran into no issues downloading the files. There was a normal disruption of transfer that caused FF 53.3 to abort that transfer. I tried it again with no other files being transferred at the same time and it dl'd fine. That was the 1.4 gb file.
I use Win 7 Pro 64bit on an old Intel Q9550 quadcore with 8 gigs DDR2 I built in 2008. I have several browsers installed, I like using Firefox 53.3 best. I use that older version because all later than that are pure CHROME-FOX and that stinks. I'd rather use IE 11 than that. Opera is also installed. Now to go install that li'l goober!

Thread: Poser 11.3 Common Files and Legacy Files | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
I see a number of files with March 30 dates, and some things are different, like Dusk and Gorilla are separate files now, and in September they were a combined file. No matter, I have the Sept Update backed up (of course). I just want to know if I do need to update all that content, or just the Poser files. Which would be on the first page, not in the Key Required page. Oh duh that one is sorta self answering, s'cuse me I just woke up! McG.

Thread: PP 11.2 is not searching for .pmd files | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Now, IF the MORPHS folder many vendors use for their morph deltas has become a 'canon' legitimate folder, then poser could be looking in there for the pmd files as well as the one in the pz2 file path if its different. But, John says his efforts have Poser throwing up the search box. Maybe he don't have a Morphs folder.

And yes I did relay all the info to John at Renderosity Support...that used to be just Poser Support. Or something.
