Thread: Question about Poser 8 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been pulling my hair out trying to render a scene in P8 with five V4's all decked out, and I'm down to almost draft settings and still running out of memory before it finishes. Or it finally finishes with huge black holes everywhere. I'm not doing another render like this ever again.

Nice to know that you can push the IDL settings that low and still get a decent test render in a far more manageable amount of time. I figured I had to be doing something wrong that even my quick test IDL renders were taking an hour or two.
Thread: Poser 8 suddenly won't open, just minimizes to taskbar. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This has happened to me as well on Windows 7. I ended up telling Poser to launch maximized and in XP SP3 compatibility mode for it to go away.
Thread: Victoria 4 and Poser 8 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
On a completely clean re-install on a new hard drive, I ran into a problem installing the gen 4 models because of a missing file the older models came with. (No idea what file that is anymore, though.) I found the easiest solution is to install an old M3 (or maybe V3) first, then everything else installed just fine.
Not sure if that's the problem you're running into or not.

Those pictures of Calgary remind me of why I left Edmonton for the West Coast, and have never looked back.
Thread: What's your favorite type of Pose? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Couples poses that aren't overtly sexy would be great, too. Just a natural stance, hand on a shoulder, that kind of thing.
Thread: One year later: what I learned about Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One of the very first things I read on these forums when I first picked up Poser about a year and a half ago was someone (might have been Bagginsbill) saying that it takes about two and a half years to be fluent in Poser. I took that to heart, took things one day at a time, and I know that one day I'll be comfortably competent in the advanced features.

Quote - Vampires? I thought they were in Twilight...;)
No, those are just weird things that sparkle and like to show off their emo brooding skills.
Thread: OT: Planning my final resting place etc | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I want to be laid to rest in a bed of flowers on a funeral barge that has been pushed out to sea and set ablaze. Hopefully my life insurance will cover the cost of the fines.
Thread: what do you do with your renders? do you do professional work? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I do this purely for my own enjoyment and challenge to bring my personal characters to life. I stick them up on DA to get half a dozen hits, and that's about it.
Thread: OT - Stargate Babies - Harder to Watch Each Week | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Being a fan of Stargate and BSG, SGU sounded like it was right up my alley. Even my hubby who could never get into SG started watching the first few episodes with me, because he enjoyed BSG so much. Sadly, it's already getting really old really fast. Hubby has already stopped watching.
Hopefully things pick up. I know they had 18 episodes already finished when it premiered, so they've still got time to win me over. That is, if they can stop with the gross misuse of the communications stones. Shouldn't they be bringing over scientists to help Rush instead of going out clubbing and using someone else's body to bang their SO's?
And I agree, Dune is awesome. Loved the books and especially The Children of Dune mini-series (and the soundtrack makes for great background music when playing in Poser).
Thread: Stoopid, blindly positive comments on gallery images. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
While the mindless ooh's and ahh's are great for one's ego, it's the constructive criticism that helps us grow as artists and users of Poser. I actually like it when someone shows me what I could do better to improve something, either technically or aesthetically.
Thread: OT: Married poser users. Does your spouse enjoy your art...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My hubby is extremely supportive of my hobby (as long as he gets enough attention and dinner), and he's always open to giving me constructive criticism or ideas. He's helped me make some huge improvements with just a simple "why not do this instead". And he's even given me a sub gallery on his photography website, bugging me regularly for my newest pieces, and registered a website for me to eventually build me a website. Now if only I had the talent to go with all of the support.
He's talked a few times about giving it a try himself, especially after seeing some of the really great dragon models available. Would be nice to be able to bounce technical details and ideas off him, that's for sure.
Thread: How many Runtimes; how many Posers? in users' computers | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just recently installed a new main hard drive with Windows 7, so I currently only have Poser 8 installed. I've got 12 external runtimes on a secondary hard drive pretty much dedicated to just that.
