Thread: Need Help Creating MAT Poses For a Prop | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay, guess I'll have to use MC6 for the P6 version of my prop, and save it with "embedded" materials/textures into the Prop Folder for the P5 and Pro versions of my prop.
Thanks for your help.

Is there a "Materials Collection" option for Poser 5 (as in Poser 6)? Poser 5's Material Room option doesn't seem to offer the option of saving a "collection" of materials at once (as compared to P6). If not, then what other options would I have for applying MAT Poses in Poser 5 other than "saving/embedding" the material/texture content into the prop library (IE, I have a choice of 3 different MAT Poses to apply for a prop.... I would save INTO my Prop Library 3 different prop models, each with a different MAT Pose applied)?
Thanks in advance.

I wasn't aware of that, (as I'm not too familiar with "boning") however, I'd need to make sure that doing so would NOT alter the geometry of the OBJ, if so, it would render all the morphs I created inoperable. If it won't affect my morphs at all, it's definitely an option worth keeping in mind.

Well, here's the thing, I'm pretty new to Lightwave, and I created a pretty involved prop (entailed about 30 or so layers in Lightwave, not to mention the LOOOOOONG hours/days it took), and the thought of going back to the drawing board and re-designing this all from scratch again, is to say the least..... not appealing. :) That plus the fact I'm not at the "Creating CR2's" level in Lightwave yet pretty much dictates, for now at least, that it must be a prop.
I appreciate the suggestion though Tyger_purr.

Thanks for the info Tyger_purr..... however, I would need the versatility of the prop being in the scene by itself as well as with a figure.

Thread: Question Regarding Zipping CR2/PNG files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Everyone, thanks for all the info. Yes, I currently keep at "least" two sets of backups in various formats (DVD, CD, and/or external HD), been doing so for years, only they were all "uncompressed". Needless to say, that makes for a lot discs laying around and a lot less space on the external. And yes, I agree about NOT compressing files "collectively" but rather individually.... makes a lot of sense. I may just end up using my double density DVDs (8.5 gigs) to store an uncompressed format version, and use the regular DVD's and external HD to store a compressed (zipped) format version.
Thanks again for all your help/suggestions..... it's most appreciated.

Thread: Question Regarding Zipping CR2/PNG files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Actually, I already use an external hd. It's a 40 gig external drive but I'm quickly running outta space on that as well. I have piles of CDs and DVDs laying around, burned with the stuff I created and saved. I don't have a HD space issue (I have a 250 gig HD on my main computer and 80 gigs on my laptop), rather, this zipping idea is geared for "back-up" purposes...... just in case.
Now, with your experience, I'm beginning to wonder if it'll be worth zipping..... or maybe I should just continue to save (back-up) my stuff on discs in the usual "uncompressed" natural format (drag and drop).
Thanks for the input..... now I need to examine this a bit further......

Thanks for the info Miss Nancy and ADP001. Also, that is a very valid point you made ADP001 about the read error rendering ALL the files in the folder unretrievable..... thanks for enlightening me. :)

Teyon, looks like I had zipped up the files "before" re-saving my wrestling PP2 with the newly loaded morphs. Sometimes it's the most obvious errors that are hardest to remedy. Thanks for pointing that out Teyon, I really appreciate it.

Quote - The morphs go on whatever part of the object you've imported them into unless it's a full body morph.
I understand that, however, what I wanted to know was is there any other file I should look for when gathering all these files for "zipping" (IE, my wrestingly PP2 I created which is in the PROPS folder). Is there any other folder that would "house" these morphs? The reason I'm asking is, as I stated above, I imported the morphs successfully, however after I zip-up all the necessary files with winzip (at least I'm thinking I'm grabbing all the necessary files), and then I unzip them into my Poser on my other computer, the wrestling ring loads fine, except there are no morphs attached to it.
Am I missing a step here or do I have to "always" "manually" re-install these morphs each time I install the wrestling ring into Poser?

Export the ring out of poser as an OBJ file and import that into LW,
Grab in the modelling area the verts on the ropes (I would use a soft selection option) and bend the ropes back a bit on one side. Export this as an OBJ and then
Fouble click on the ring in the poser authouring environment and in the properties window click add morph target. Then navigate to the ring that you morhed and saved from LW and add it.
Do the same for all the ring sides and variations of the morph targets that you would like to create.
This could prob be also done useing Poser magnets right in poser.
Okay, I guess you can disregard the previous message as I've gotten past that point already. What I'd like to know is where exactly in Poser do the MORPHS I import go? I was looking for them so I could zip up the ring I made complete with the morphs, but I couldn't find them. I figured it "might" have been incorporated into the PP2 file itself, so I zipped that up by itself, only when I unzipped it into P6, it loaded fine, but without any of the morphs I had manualy loaded before.

What do you do when you get an error message which reads:
"Target Geometries Has Wrong Number Of Vertices" after I try to add the morphs into Poser?
