Thanx Fred,
It is possible that the company and full version don't actually exist....

Thread: Lens Hoods | Forum: Photography
I think a UV filter is a MUST.
If you're doing night photography and there aren't a lot of stray lights about to mess up your shot I don't use the lens hood. I do use it on my new Ultra Wide Angle because you can pick up flare from anywhere. At the same time the hood is really only good for light from directly above, because of the design of the petal hood I find it pretty useless for flare from the sides.
I do like having my hood on when walking around crowds as Richard says it saves the knocks and bumps.
About DP review, I think it's pretty much like anywhere the more you contribute the more you'll be 'seen' and the more will 'see' you, if that makes sense?

Sorry I'm going with dust or dirty some where in your camera body.
I've got plenty of shots where the dust 'shifts'.
I believe but this is not really believable to me :(

Yeah I get what you're saying and it does makes sense. I just like to agree to disagree.
I still wanna see someone do it physically. And I'm sticking by my theory of cropping and angle of view...
:D
I think at 20MPH I would actually be dead not just get a headache :(

Yip that's all it is, is a crop factor...
What I propose is that it might not be just a crop issue but an angle of view issue too.
Sorry 3D - I'm not convinced at all... Simply because it's generated. Like a scientific exteriment can be thought out, planned and written down when it comes to the physicals of actually doing it, it doesn't always work...

Well the speed would come into play with the shots that you take, all your birds and such.
But it def is an importat aspect to consider if you aren't considering raising your ISO :)
I think RCC might not have £4000 to spead thou :( I know I don't...

Well done on posting a few shots.
You'll never get goo macro results from that lens, you'll def need a dedicated one for that type of work.

Well all I can say is I say that Danny should take his 5D and 20D and use the same lens on it at the same aperture, with no cropping resize each image to 400px wide and then we will see what it's really all about!!! Then on the fullframe take a shot at the supposed 1.6x rate that the APS is supposedly seeing and see if the 'flatness' appears better or worse - which is what Tan is talking about which is what I'm talking about. Honestly I don't think computer graffics will cut it. Plus the camera and object MUST stay at the same positions through out the whole exercise...
Anyone else got a FF and APS censor handy - and can try this?
SO here is the criteria:
Ingrediants:
One FF camera,
One APS camera (1.3, 1.5 or 1.6 is fine)
One lens that fits on both cameras - has to be made for the FF cam
One tape measure
One tripod
Method:
Set up tripod.
Take FF camera, attach lens, fit on tripod. Shoot subject at 24mm while subject is 1m away.
Take APS camera, attach lens, fit on tripod. Shoot subject at 24mm while subject is 1m away.
Take FF camera, attach lens, fit on tripod. Shoot subject at 31mm (for 1.3 APS censor) or 36mm (for 1.5 APS censor) or 38mm (for 1.6 APS censor).
Baking time:
Import photos, resize to 400px width while height is auto adusted.
Upload photos onto this thread.
Result:
One soft bendy cookie for Rich.

You can go into the settings menu and set a power save/shut off / stand-by mode. I've got mine set to 2 mins coz I used to leave my Panasonic LMC-FZ5 on all the time and it would get dead, so I learn from that.
About the lens and Wildlife. I believe you should get a Sigma 50 - 500mm. Personally when I try and shoot wildlife (I suck BTW) I find that the Sigma 70 - 300mm that I have right now is pretty useless. It really doesn't reach far enough and if you wanna do a safari it will not (trust me on this) be long enough.
Macro Lens: I suggest getting a Sigma 105mm. It's got a decent angle of view for the cropped censor and it's cheap. If you really wanna spend some money I'd say go for the Canon MP-E 65mm Macro it's got a awesome, fantastic, wonderful 5 times lifesize magnification!!! WOWSERS!!!

Thread: Mirror lock-up | Forum: Photography
I tried mirror lock up today and Personally don't like it. Maybe when I shoot night life it'll be a different story coz then it'll be on a tripod and set up and I suppose the mirror lock up will help...
Maybe it's a glitch with the D70's? Maybe they put a cheap motor in it. Honestly that;s what I would say it is, I doubt it;s a software issue...
