Cool, surreal, eerie. I like it. The moon has water as ice, up near one of it's poles. Discovered only in the last few years.

Oh jeepers. Fill in the blank: Is _________________ dead? Examples of answers I have seen in the last few months in various places: Film Digital Landscape photography Flower photography Photography (!!!!???) People are SO eager to kill off other people's loves. Why is that?

Well, he has no idea what he'd do with a 4th leg, does he? what's he, about 9 or 10 weeks old? Kittens are so fun.

He's a tootsie! A tortie-point siamese, maybe? What happened to the fourth leg? Nice use of B&W, and nice subject isolation in both shots.

Looks like you already know what grad school feels like LOL! That is a remarkably expressive image.

It's a great shot. At two seconds, I'm astonished how much detail you captured. You might try burning that arm and hand, but if you do, the drum head to the right of them will be the brightest thing in the pic by even more than it is now. That'll be the first place a viewers eye goes.
Thread: Because I was bored-- | Forum: Photography
You should work at being bored, if this is the result! This is really a nice image. I can't make up my mind if I would tweak it to warmer colors or not.

Nice shot. You used DOF perfectly. Some of Fox Talbot's earliest negatives, maybe shot around 1826, are kind of similar to this, looking right at the light through a mullioned window. Based on your caption 'though, his concept of what he was doing was quite different. What a difference 175 years makes LOL!

Hilarious picture! Speaking only for myself, I'll be glad to see your tutorials on LAB color, etc., but not SO glad that I just can't wait, if you know what I mean... Hope your life settles down quickly!

Picture makers can indeed play an important role. Eugene Smith was beaten by company thugs for taking pictures of mercury-poisoned fishermen in Japan. I've understood that he never fully recovered from this, and that it hastened his death. The images themselves raised awareness of the situation, and may have resulted in action being taken more quickly. Now they serve as a historical record of corporate greed and coldness.
