Thanks folks :D. I was pleased with this one, myself. This is a large female; she has babies nearly as big as she is, and she is very thin. She is definitely aware that something is going on, but she is not terribly concerned about it. This was shot through a window, glass pressed up against the lens. The animal is at the near focus-distance of about 2.5 m, with a 300 x 1.4. This is nearly full-frame, with only about a 10% crop off the top. I wouldn't say she and her babies are tame, exactly, but they are accustomed to coming up on the deck to get peanuts in the shell, and they are accustomed to the big single black eye that sometimes moves around on the other side of the window. They do not even care much if the dog looks out the window, as long as the dog doesn't bark. I'm guessing it would be easy to get them to take food from the hand; my grandmother loved to do this, until one bit her because she didn't let go of the walnut quickly enough. Tetanus shots are really not a great deal of fun; god knows I've had enough of them--but none recently.
Love to see more of her, & her babies.... ; )
