with a regular texture, try changing the diffuse color to grey. gives neat highlights. (assuming of course the rest of the diffuse textures are white)
Thread: Poser is for Perverts? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
according to conservative muslims, women not covered head to toe is perversion.
according to conservative christians, women showing leg or belly is pervsersion.
(poor women.)
o, and don't think there aren't people out there who would outlaw our software.
also, don't think there aren't people out there would outlaw any mention of sexuality or people of the opposite sex at all.
(poor all of us.)
it can happen in any country, any time. all you can do is always stand your ground.
if you feel guilty about your use of poser, do puppies or buildings or flowers or something. (very nice art there.) just don't be surprised when someone complains about that. (what do you mean with this puppy image? ) that's what people do.
Thread: breaking dynamic cloth w/ the group editor? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
if you are tying for the cloth to unbind, you can use the grouping tool to export the model without the clasp...then import that and get the simulation. the cloth will fall open at the back.
this model has the clasp as a separate material. just make sure you select only the clasp in the group editor, then invert the selection. you could probably just spawn prop right there and go from there.
or if it's not the one i am thinking about, you know, just select the vertices you don't want connected, invert selection, and export or spawn prop right there

i haven't messed with joint controlled morphs but read up on them somewhat...i think you can set the morph to kick in at a certain angle and work from there. it seems they had mentioned that in poser technical.
Thread: Library takes soooooo long to load | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
one of the techniques folks use is to create different runtimes. there's info here about how to do that if you're interested.
Thread: Inspire a Prop: simple, obvious, and nowhere to be found. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i bought raytracer's modern complete apartment a while ago and it had a lot of neat stuff like that...books, cd's, soap and container. a really beautiful place too...

Thread: Q re Poser to Max Bone Rigging | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
so the character still animates in max but does not do it by creating bones? then it does do it by morph? yikes that must make gigantic files

Thread: Poser Magnets | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
very nice tutorials...i love the animations on them.
i just got into magnets about 3 months ago, and now i don't do anything without them. i wish that all of our work was done with magnets...once set up, you can just make them invis and remember the name to pull them out of props. don't even have to see the magnet, just pull or twist it. i wish that the groups that the morphs were created from were saved and magnets left intact. magnet control instead of morph control would be much much more precise and much much more flexible.
i guess what i mean is, hard structure should be morph, but movement and expression should be magnet

Thread: Q re Poser to Max Bone Rigging | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
here's a software i believe will do it
$180. not sure if it imports the bones or simply morphs the character, but i would be surprised if it's the latter. i haven't used it but will eventually
Thread: bendy legged freaks! (my walk designer woes!) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
try using limits when you set walk designer.
for a slower walk try retiming the animation to a longer period.
a neat trick to cure both is to just take every 4th frame for a cycle, save the individual frame poses. then reapply the poses over the longer length. will help to eliminate jitter and leave lots of room for improvement or to add to the walk. (like reporter with mike...hand must remain in front ot the figure. just key that into the single frame poses you save out.)
you might get some unusual effects from the empty frames with the curves in the graphs...if you are getting overshoot and something goes way out of line, go to the previous key and make the spline straight instead of a curve. (or enter more keys inbetween, but that is the quick fix)
remember to leave inverse kinematics on for the feet or the feet will drift around on the floor or through it. you do need to turn it off if you are going to use dynamic cloth...but in that case just fill out the frames for all the leg part, then the feet will remain firmly planted.
Thread: Doctor Who as an instance of facial expressions. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i agree. animation is about over acting. but if you want it to look real you should not notice anything out of place.
i think it's hard to get expressions and body language from actors; i think they are self conscious enough that we are not seeing reality, we're seeing acting. not that it isn't good...just not real.
love the nick by the way
