I have a friend at work whose husband teaches graphic art and she's been asking if there's a Mac version. Thanks for finding out, Adam. She'll be pleased to know this!
Thread: Fishies! | Forum: Vue
BTW, Bongo - as far as you know does there seem to be any way to get Vue to import Bryce files without a full copy of Bryce or is this just an "internal" trick of Bryce's?

Wellll... As long as Jacques Cousteau isn't looking we won't tell anyone about the saltwater/freshwater thing will we? I'm checking out Mitch's site as I write. Unfortunately my knowledge of German is minimal but he has some cool stuff there.

I thought I saw something from him on Artomania a while back. He HAS been awfully quiet. He must be up to something :)

Bongo, sell this guy on Vue d'Esprit like you did the rest of us. And I can already feel the forum tipping over into the Pacific Ocean! Let's get some more East Coaster's to balance it out.

Nice place ya got here! Love what you've done with the furniture! Two Californians in the same forum? It's a good thing I'm a North Carolinian, it keeps the forum from tipping over too far towards the West ;) !
Thread: Poser patch problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been waiting for somebody else to stick their toe in the water too. I see that my pet peeve (file I/O filters) was addressed, but this "hairy floor" thing is too weird! My current version knows where the hair goes, and until they fix the bug I'm still waitin'! BTW, anyone try the new executable ?
Thread: "Missing texture" bug | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Has anyone compared the CR2 of a file that has missing textures with one after Poser has "processed" it this way? I know that once a file has been loaded and resaved Poser doesn't go thru the whole mess again. Maybe it is changing the CR2. Seems a cumbersome way to handle it tho. Didn't think of turning the R/O attribute on, if it IS rewriting the CR2, then it WILL go thru the "missing texture" stuff each time b/c the file hasn't changed. Something to look into I guess.

Phil: Nope, just did it to me today with the patch installed. I knew it asked for each textured part, which is why it's so annoying when it happens to a figure or a prop w/lots of textures. If there's only one or two missing, it pauses then continues on its merry way. Why doesn't it know to do what Sirdean suggests, simply set the texture to NO_MAP for each part with a missing map? That's what I thought I was telling Poser to do when I answered NOT to continue looking for missing textures! What in blazes is it DOING all that time!?
Thread: Morph Target Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can do it inside Poser. Set the dials of your face the way you want them. Go to Object/Spawn Morph Target. Name it what you want the dial to read. You'll find a new dial with your face morph. You'll have to set the dials you used to create it back to 0 (You can delete them if you don't need them) Set your newly created dial to 1 and voila! There's your combined morph!
Thread: A glitch? The text in the fields under the objects/characters/props is smaller | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, it's amusing NOW, but it probably wasn't then! :) (It's also amusing because it didn't happen to me) Let's see, go to "seal-fish-lion" select "frog-turtle..." Sounds like loads of fun! But seriously... I have my desktop set to 1024x768 Large Fonts. Maybe that's the problem. Maybe Vile has Small Fonts selected on the Display Prop's?
Thread: HELP!!! Error when loading some figures!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Imaginos, as long as it doesn't crash it's no problem. Poser just doesn't recognize the version # and is giving you a warning. As you've no doubt noticed, it WILL go ahead & read it anyway. Same as the message about "some information in this file does not pertain to figures of this type". It's annoying but nothing to worry about.
Thread: queries re the Poser Businessman | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It sounds as if the jacket was constructed from plane surfaces instead of being molded from solid polyhedrons. Maybe it's as you say with the head/neck, it's done to keep the parts separate to avoid one part's morphs from interfering with another. Maybe the modeler just thought it was the easiest way to accomplish the task. Does it cause any problems?

Really, Bloodsong? Animal symbols for text (LOL)! Now THAT'S amusing! My transparency sliders all say TRANSPARENCY. That's all, no Min no Max, no Falloff, no nothing. Have since day one, I don't even know what they're supposed to look like. Luckily I know what they mean. It is odd that the rest of my labels are normal. I think...

Correct me if I'm wrong, AA, but I think you're saying that the figure isn't "solid". i.e. some faces are just free polygons and not continuous with other faces as part of a solid mesh. Their edges touch adjacent polygons but they aren't "welded" to them. I've imported objects like this into Truespace & it won't let you do Boolean's on it b/c it complains that it's "not a soild".
