Thread: add jpg pic to prop | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Even easier Drag n' drop the JPG (PNG, TIF, whatever) onto the material edit window. Poser will auto-create the node. All you need to do is plug it in. Done.

Poser uses the HDRI lighting that is part of Cycles. And yes the shadows are not ideal. Being a PBR, Cycles isn't good at non-physical renders. Shadow catchers are definitely not part of this reality.
Thread: Poser 11 and video card | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
That's correct. The 30xx and newer use a different architecture from the 20xx cards. The GPU render won't work with the newer generation cards in Poser 11.
Thread: Slower renders in Poser 13 than Poser 12 | Forum: Poser 13
The 3060 supports Optix. Turn ON progressive Refinement. The new engine is optimized for progressive.
Choose the Optix render device.Optix is as much as 10x faster. (40x faster than a comparable CPU render)
Adaptive sampling works differently in P13. Adaptive at "0.001" is actually much higher than P12. Try 0.005 or 0.01. The new system is non-linear and will take some getting used to,.
Thread: Beginner-Question - IK - Make forehand the goal | Forum: Poser 13
Yes that the stuff. These might be helpful too:

Thread: Beginner-Question - IK - Make forehand the goal | Forum: Poser 13
Create a new IK chain that's just the shoulder and the forearm in the goal. Enable that IK instead of the regular hand IK hands.
The manual covers creating IK chains here: https://www.posersoftware.com/documentation/13/index.htm#t=Poser_Reference_Manual%2FTools%2FEditors%2FCreating_IK_Chains.htm%23h&rhsearch=inverse%20kinematic
It's a drag n' drop operation. Click create chain in the Hierarchy Editor. Then, drag the chain pieces in order from beginning to goal. (Shoulder then forearm)
Another tool that you may find useful is the constraint groups. If you add a constraint to the IK goal you can use multiple constraints and turn them on and off during the animation. This has the affect of being able to change the IK goal in the middle of an animation.
Crash from parenting an IK goal ... that's worrying. If you can reproduce that please file a ticket in support with the steps you used.
Thread: Library Trouble | Forum: Poser 12
... and Flash will never work again. Thanks Adobe. So, unless you have a time machine to go back before 2020 you're probably out of luck. That's why I said it was a miracle it was doing any thing, If you want a normal library you'll have to update Poser to a Post-Flash version. Poser 11 and up
The only other solution I know is the p3do library system. It runs in a separate window and is a windows native app so no flash nonsense. But, it definitely doesn't look anything like Posers normal library.
Thread: Library Trouble | Forum: Poser 12
It's sort of a miracle this works at all. The library in P10(2014) requires Adobe Flash. They didn't just stop supporting it. Whenever Flash phoned home they actively killed it. Flash was literally killed and tossed in a burning dumpster by Adobe in 2020. There's no getting it back. That looks like some sort of 3rd party library replacement like p3Do.
If you have a 64 bit version of Poser installed and a 64 bit OS you can try the external library ... It uses Adobe Air which is now Samsung Air and is also waaaay past end of life. It will eventually stop working too.
Thread: Face/expressions files | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Face files can only be created if the figure has a "head". A 'head" not a "Head" or "Skull" or "Pelon" or "cabeza".
Thread: Pose problem | Forum: Poser 13
Figures made in different apps can have different orientation of joints. Poser stores its poses as simple rotations. "Bend the knee 45 on the X axis" But when you apply that to a figure from a different universe the knee joint might be in the Y-axis or needs to bend the other way.
Poses created of one figure seldom work well for a different one.
Thread: Morph issues | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The reason you need to uncheck follow origins is because the dependencies are baked into the clothing when you copy from the regular figure in the scene. When the morph is applied the origins and scales are already matched. Then they get matched again by the included in conforming options and it explodes. If you copy from a developer rig they don't have the dependencies setup. You're clothing will need "Follow origins" checked like is normally expected. You should get a better morph transfer too as the dev rigs have a higher resolution base mesh.
This is why we still need developer rigs.
Thread: Getting these errors, how to fix? | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Microsoft Kinect doesn't really exist any more. Best to just remove the dll. In Poser's program folder look for the folder
...\Poser 11\Runtime\Python\addons
Delete the entire Kinect folder. MS doesn't provide drivers for it even if you had one.
