What I really want for mike is a jacket that bend at the shoulder like a real jacket does without looking like a bent tube. It looks correct when the arms are straight out but looks weird when you move them to his side.

well if you go with the original comic he didn't get the suit until he went of to metropolis. DC changed that after they started to really use superboy. I have always kinda viewed the original superman and superboy as alternate realities. One where his first experience as a super hero is when he goes to metropolis and another where he's had amazing adventures as superboy and as a member of the legion. The series seems more real to me, especially how their dealing with his feeling that the problems in smallville are his fault. The onlything that is bothering me is how young his parents are but that's just because I'm used to seeing them as much older visually. In order for costumes to work they need a reason for being. Spiderman got there because he's a wrestler, the x-man movie dealt with the costumes as uniforms, the batman movies went with an armor aproach. I like the superman costume but I want to see how he rationalizes wearing the outfit. The scene when he's hazed in the cornfield sets up the idea of the "s" on his chest as something from his past. And later when he's called "superman" it will be a way of relating to an event from his past and turning it into something possitive.I always thought that an alien planet with the same alphabet as earth was week. Although I do like the Alex Ross Kingdom come take on the symbol, it's just abstract enough to be believable.

Have you seen the new smallville show. I like the new take on super boy and the way he's wearing blue and red, hinting at what's to come. And Lex as his friend and Lana with the krypton necklace that makes him a klutz around her are great little twist on the mythology.

My meaning was not so much about poser as we need to concentrate on new areas rather than going back and redoing the same project over and over. Kind of like replacing all my lps with cds and vhs with dvds. While I'm very happy with V2 I was a little disappointed in the fact that I had to go back and rebuy the clothing to truly use her new features for anything other than pin-ups. I feel the same way about a redo of mike. I would prefer they concentrate on clothing, hair and plug-ins as well as highly detailed props rather than another male model. I could see a morph pack that added to mikes facial versatility. Granted the poser stores are providing alot of these items I just feel zygote has a lot of models from their they could be converting to poser. I just feel like I'm upgrading the models I originaly got with poser as much as I'm upgrading computers. I guess what I'm trying to express is that with each of these upgrades I get a feeling of 3 steps forward 2 steps back kind of thing. Which my be an arguement for what your saying about a brand new model I just want it to be able to where old mike stuff.

I heard a great qoute this weekend that I think applies to mike and all past and future poserprojects... "concentrate on progress rather than perfection" Basically it means every step forward is a good step. Imagine if we had all dismissed poser based on the first models we had to work with. What I really want rather than another model is better rendering, the ability to select an area for test rendering and specularity. After I have all that then I'll start asking for a better Mike and real hair and colistion detection and radiosity and motion capture .... etc.
Thread: oh aki, where are you?does anyone know about the tex for aki,dr sid | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It's not the actual Texture map rather it's shown within the documentory as the creatures discuss aspects of it. I will give you 2 samll hints... pay close attention when you load the second disc they do give you instructions that you may have skipped past in a rush to get to the goodies. second while veiwing the documentary look for changes on the screen that attract your attention. all this is part of the regular dvd not the dvd rom. Also the thriller video is also hidden. I haven't been able to get disc 2 to play on my mac disc 1 has no problems, but disc 2 keeps getting hung up on data. I was able to dig into disc 2 and find a few mpg about art and such but I can't find the studio tour it's probably at the web site unfortunately I don't have the mac with dvd hooked up to the web. Good luck in finding the face wraps and other goodies. All in all it's a great dvd with great extras and dvd really brings out the beauty and detail of the film even better than the theatre. They grabbed the graphics right from the computer and got rid of all the imperfections you get when transferring to film.

The skin looks a little fake. I think it's because its all one color I would add some color diference to the scars and to the lips. Especially the lips there is always a slight color change in the lip as it changes from the outer exposed area to the protected inner area of the mouth. The face morph and bump map look great, and remind me of the book covers and marvel comics I saw as a kid.

I think they were talking about features that explain the creation of the texture maps and morph targets not the actual data. Similar to how other DVDs have features on effects. I'd be extremely surprised if Square gave away any texture maps or morph target. Aki alone took 30 artist 5 months to create. Also in order for them to be used You'ld nedd the actual Aki and Dr. Sid models. The head models also have large poly counts up to 100,000 polygons. But I'm still looking forward to the DVD to see how they created the character will be cool and I heard at one point the characters looked too real and freaked people out. Maybe we'll see some of that footage. I've been addicted to DVDs since they came out I can't seem to get enough behind the scenes info. I'm also learning how to deal with things at work when they get changed or cancalled. It doesn't seem that tragic when a project you've been working on for a few weeks gets cut when you hear about some of these effects guys who spend 5-6 months on a scene that never makes it into the film.

Looks like you can eat this weekend. I was at Dazs site and they have the downloads for this weekend with no Muscle Mike in site. Maybe you should check the grocery store for sale items so if it comes up next week you can still eat something.
Thread: Wet Hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I managed to create a simple wet hair look a while back using the p4 male hair that looked like a crew cut and creating a morph that pulled down the back. I then placed it on vicki, nothing to complex but it did the job. I'd share it with the community put I don't have a web page to host it. It would be very easy to recreate anyway.

JUst in time for Monsters Inc. release, reminds me of the girl BOO in the movie dressing up in a monster costume. When and where are these going to be available?
Thread: pc only vs. mac/pc | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Usually you can convert the pc object files with mac converter, although latley I have been having trouble with converted files and pro pac. They do work fine on poser 4.03 though so it must be a pro pac issue. I would mark them as pc and maybe add a note about your uncertanty. Most mac users will go ahead and grab it anyway if they know about macconverter. I have only had 1 file that I couldn't convert one way or another. And ShortySeanbo I also would want a mac in fact I have 6, and I wouldn't trade them for anything. (So no one thinks I just went out and purchased 6 at once. That's 4 desktops and 2 laptops over 8 years, can't seem to get rid of the old ones. Guess I'm creating my own batcave. It also allows me to surf, play with poser, watch a dvd, listen to music and balance my checkbook all at the same time.)
