Thread: running Poser Pro w/64 bit computer.....anyone w/ similar expereinces? pls help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks guys for the your wonderful advice and insights....
I did played around with the Preview tab option and I got the best response by selecting "Enable Hardware Shading".... go figure!!!
going this way, preview screen is extremely fluid and pleasant.... However, I am still struggling with moving individual characters... it takes 5 to 10 secs. to select the character and takes even longer to move w/ cursor!!
When I brought up tje CPU, originallyCPU usage were almost non-existant... but when I tried to select a character, here is what I observed... the First CPU bing overloaded!!
I am thinking that with Poser Pro being a 32 bit program, it can only access the first CPU and hence the overload on one CPU...and hence the reaosn for slow response???? any thoughts?
Thanks again for your valuable insights...
Cheers

Also, thanks for link on windows servies undr 64 bit OS.... will certainly check it out....
BTW, I have updated my poser pro w/ latest patches from SmithCo....As of now, I am at a total loss as to what is causing Poser' preview screen to have such a slow response... it is like pulling teeth!!

Thread: rendering options for Poser Pro.... your advice would be appreciated! :c) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser Pro it is then!! Judging by the number of images I typically generate from within poser pro (100's) , I was concerned that Perhaps I had to export every single scene into Vue or Carerra prior to rendering...
Thanks again for your insight....

Thread: rendering times with poser 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Since it typically takes about 1-2 mins to render 1000 x 1000 image size, perhaps you could try it out and judge for yourself?..... just a suggestion...

Thread: Has anyone seen this in poser 7? pls help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi,
I am using Window Vista ultimate edition and have never tried to mess around with the system I/O.... Now if efrontier comes up with a patch that allows accessing more than 2 GB then I would certainly jump to the idea.... but not until then....
BTW, if I was to allocate more virtual memory, would this help with program stability?

Thanks for the heads up guys..... I have 4 GB RAM, so I am not sure if it is a RAM issue... though it might be (seeing how RAM hungry poser becomes when loading morphs)!
What I have also found is that the file size tends to shrink when the file is saved with "external binay morph target enabled" ... in this particular case, the stand alone file w/ 90 MB gets split into .pz file of 40 MB and .pmd files of 20 MB!!! so where does the 30 MB go????? maybe some file compression going on within pmd?
anyways.. .thank you all for your prompt response....

richardson,
the "external binary morph target" is not enabled to keep everything under one file.....THis is the case for both the original and the subsequent resaved file....
Would you recommend for me to turn this option on?
Thanks for your help
