I dont know about using it to turn a profit.....but I use it to balance my addiction by using the money I make from selling textures in the marketplace, with the money I use to buy poser toys from the marketplace :)
Thread: Does a male body vein bump map exsist? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I have a veiny bump map with my "Vampire for Michael" texture set in the marketplace. It is not quite a "muscle builder" vein vein...but the bump map could be used interestingly. RawnrrThread: Hi everyone :) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Thread: skin textures vs head texture | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The trick that I found works (or at least helps) is that when you get the body skin texture to a point where it works, then copy the small section of neck, and paste that into the head texture....and stretch it to fit...then blend as you will. Its not a perfect system, but it can hide the seam somewhat :)

This is simply because the head texture is far more detailed than the body. When you look at the neck in the body texture template, its size is barely 3/4" wide...while the neck on the head template is about 5" wide...thus allowing for far greater detail. Basically when you design a skin base for the head, you have to scale it down significantly to even begin to come close to getting the texture to match the body. This I believe is one of the hardest areas of texture creation for these models.
Thread: Please help! Big problem with transparency | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One other thing you may want to check (if you have not already done so) Is to see that your "Transparency Fall off" os also set to zero. By default it is set to 0.6. This can cause some weirdness as well. Rawnrr

"This will favor only the texture makers and for most of us it'll mean that we'll have to pay twice for the same textures anyway." A texture that is applied to a different figure than the one it was designed for IS a new texture. If a texture was made for Mike, then make a similar one for Vicky....there would seem to be no problems in this subsequent purchase. So why should there be troubles with another purchase between the Vic 2 and Vic 3? It is for all intents and purposes a NEW figure...So to make a copy of textures for the new figure HAS to reside with the original creator of the textures...or it will violate their copyright.

There are some templates (seam guides) for Victoria and Michael models in the free-stuff area of this site. They are made by snowsultan. You can take them into photoshop and use them to make your textures for these models (if you have them) Rawnrr
Thread: Werewolf for mike2 By Rawnrr, n0s4ra2 (contest) | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Hello The new texture package will contain 4 textures. 1 generic human skin 1 primary transormation skin 1 secondary transformation skin 1 wolf man texture (a different colour than any in the "werewolf pack" package. ...alsp 4 different eye colours, going from a grey through red to the final wolf-brown Time permitting I would like to put a couple of poses showing the "pain" of transformation into the package as well...though I do not think I will be able to put an animation pose. The texture pack is designed to work with the "werewolf pack" morphs, but will also work as a stand alone texture for any of mikes more beastial morphs. The package is intended for release by the end of January, and will be very similar to the picture posted.....with a few minor revisions....more pictures shall be posted as the month goes on.

Thread: An informal artist survey... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Professional graphic artist for over 15 years. Trained as classical animator ...and there are things that do differentiate an artist from someone who "makes pictures". Art is an expression designed to carry with it more than the sum of its parts. While anybody can put a naked Vicky in a temple, it would take an artist who understands lighting, posing, POV, atmosphere, expression, etc to even hope to turn it into art. Now while people do not have to be professionally trained to be an artist, many have a natural feel for it (and even most who do train start off with a natural talent as well)...and people do not have to be employed in the field to be an artist either. An artist is just one who understands how all the elements in image work together to build something more than the sum of the parts. Rawnrr
