why can't I find things like that? I guess getting over the flu and getting out of the house would help. I agree with Alpha, #3 rocks with just a rotation tweak. Magick Michael aka zhounder

I took these at about 9:45-10am. I wanted to catch the light a little earlier but I was stuck in the Dr's office. I will go back to my Chiken Noodle Soup now... Magick Michael aka zhounder

patmartj, Just 2 pointers I thought you might like. First I noticed that with the clock picture it was not quiet level. It isn't you! It seems that I get that too. I have scoured the web for anything on this. Nothing. I have even gotten it when using a tripod. make sure you have editing software that lets you rotate images by hand. I use Photoshop. Second with the clock image you used the flash. It looks good and clear, but if you use the flash as sparingly as possible and play with the "S" and "A" settings. These settings allow you to get more control over your exposures and better effects too. With these settings you can set Exposure time, F-stop etc. All the controls for these features are really handy while holding the camera so once you get used to where they are you can make these changes on the fly. Be careful though! You will get that damn flashing hand a lot! The Flashing Hand on the F707/717 is the camera telling you that you have to have a steady hand because your exposure time is less than optimal. I use a tripod whenever possible. One last thing. The manual from Sony is not the easiest thing to find info in. I went out to there website and searched (and it took a while) and found the manual in PDF format! I can now search on keywords! Talk about speeding things up... This way I only use the hard copy in the field. You have a great camera with tons of flexibility! To get more life out of the camera you may want to get a reader for it so you don?t put that extra stress on the camera. Readers are only like $20 (US) at Wal-Mart. Great images! I Love the old mans beard! Magick Michael aka zhounder PS being a bit of a clock fetish, can we see the whole thing?!

Thank you for looking! patmartj - wow didn't know I could have that much influence! I love my DSC-F707! I have to admit though that thos shots taken in germany and Arizona were with my old Olympus 460 1.2mp camera. When it died I got the 707. Kinda glad it died! PunkClown - I love Bryce5. The only thing is it takes hours or days to come up with one image. With phototgraphy it takes minutes. But they both feed different parts of me. Six Eyed Smily - I would love to use a Java Script to size the window. But my understanding is that I would have to define each window to the size of each image. When cropping things for artisic reasons I don't always end up with a perfectly sized image. That would mean over 100 different scripts! If you know an easy script or way I am open! PLEASE send me the info! starshuffler - the reason for the drop shadow is that the purple represents me and the teal shadow represents my wife who originally designed the site. She now helps me by teaching me how to update the pages and maintain them. (I learned alot about Cascading Style Sheets in the last week) To change that shadow means to lesson that which represents her. Well she is just too important for that! I have to leave it as is. yeah its hard to read but it backs up the text just like she backs me up. What can I say, its a Love thing. Magick Michael aka zhounder PS all the Title Tags are now corrected.

Honestly I would love to make a living "through things photographic" but A) I don't think I am that good, and B) I have no info on how. "B" would be helpful to know more about. "A" I think the forum is helping quite a bit so far! Magick Michael aka zhounder

The only change I would like to see is the ability to post multiple images to one message. Now we have to post 2 messages to post 2 images. I understand that this may be a limitation of the database but you asked! The forum itself and all of the members have been the best! I do belong to multiple forums and I have to say this is the one that i get the most out of. Pleasant constructive critisism, Freindly advice, and some god humor too! (even if y'all don't get out much) I want to thank evreyone on this list for making this the most visited site on my computer. Special thanks to Alpha for starting this list, Michelle and starshuffler for all their work to keep this a great place to visit. Oh and if we make this forum any better, my wife is going to get really upset. I stay up reading the list rather than go to bed when I should... Magick Michael aka zhounder

Thread: First Snow.......... | Forum: Photography
Dang! That is alot of snow for pre-Thanksgiving! Great shots! I love the first one. It reminds me of when we actually got snow here near Philly. Of course the storm that gave you snow just made it wet and cold here... :( Great shots make me feel something and those made me feel more than just cold. I only hope that my shots can be as moving someday... Magick Michael aka zhounder PS - When I lived in Dallas 1/2 an inch shut down the city! It was hysterical!
Thread: Questions concerning digital camera's and landscapes | Forum: Photography
I use the Sony DSC-F707 and I have similar problems. The foreground is dark. I doubt its the camera or you. It is what you need to do afterwards to your images. If you are using Photshop or a similar program, you can mask out the sky and then adjust curves and levels to bring up the details in your landscape. Another way to fix it straight from the camera is by using Spot metering if you camera has that feature. Even without it if you meter on a dark area the change to POV so the brighter area is at the metering point your shot will come out lighter. The problem there is the fact that you can over expose and wash out your sky. I am not familiar with the Epson PhotoPC 3000z but if it is a decent Prosumer camera you should have the features. Yur shots show that you know how to shoot and that your camera is able to catch the images, it may just be the knowledge you have of your camera! Study the manual again and see if you missed anything. I re-read mine like once a month! I even went out and got the PDF version so I can read it online if I need to! Magick Michael aka zhounder
