Thank y'all for the reply, and thank you very much mylemonblue, for the extensive advices -- they're all helpful to me.
My laptop (bought in 2004) doesn't support USB 2.0 even though the manufacturer said otherwise, and most of the external hard-drives (mostly with USB 2.0) in the market don't work with my laptop.
I'm planning to buy a desktop PC in the near future with big space, and an external HD to accommondate both P5 and P6. But for now, I think I'll just stick with P6 while using all the tips you gave.
Thanks again!

Thread: Way to speed up poser renders. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you very much for this helpful info.
But could you elaborate a bit more on the following points:
"set aside part of your onboard ram as a ramdisk, using available software, and putting a seperate runtime file in it. "
Sorry I'm not good at computer, but I'd appreciate it if you could explain a bit more about how to accomplish the above steps.
Best!
Thread: Can Poser 5 work well with imported P6 James and Jessi ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi, thank you very much ernyoka1 (TrekkieGrrrl).
Did you have SR4 installed with your P5 ?
In recollection, I encountered crashes/freezes problems more often with P6 (w/ SR2) after installing a specific merchant product. Then I tried going back to P5 (with SR4), and it worked smoothly and even rendered faster.
I do hope that I can stay with P6, and don't have to go back to P5.
Thanks again.
