I for one have no particular urge to produce ugliness within Poser, since I see such a VAST plethora of it in the streets around me 24/7/365. A slider to REDUCE the ugliness of the people in TRW would be a much better utility. (wish, wish, wish...)

white-ish (slightly green-tinged) male, currently living in San Francisco (at least until my saucer gets fixed and I can go back "home" to a more civilized planet). Age: 54 Earth-years (i.e., old enough to really know better, but young enough to often say "what the hell?" and go for it anyway). Never married (never going to be) - but I have 2 "kids" - 1 Maine coon & 1 British shorthair (which is as close to having children as I'm ever likely to get - just as well, since I long ago recognized that I'm NOT good parent-material).
Thread: Freestuff bashing, and why I'm pissed off - a Rant. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Like MOST here, the freestuff was what originally attracted me to this site. I really appreciate the freestuff providers - they have made this hobby possible for me. I'm with you 100% IB, and Questor, too. Questor, your stuff is GREAT! As for the lentil-sized-brain JERKS who sent those emails, to HELL with them!

I think it's just the opposite. The ability to down-rate anonymously will absolutely delight the trolls. People who give ratings based on actual perceived talent will do as they always have. *** Yessssss, mussssst get rid of nasssssssssssssty ugggggggggly boxesssssssss!
Thread: FULL FREE OUTFIT - this week's PWFW freebie! :) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey Rena, Thanx, this looks great - off to grab it for the collection. BTW: Nudge nudge, hint hint... How about some American Civil War military uniforms - both sides? Those ought to be extraordinarily popular items once available.

Thread: Dr. Legume where are you? >: o } | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep, here I sit, with "Dr. Legume where are you?" running thru my head to the tune of the old theme some from the ancient tv show "Car 54 Where are you?" Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalp! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh! ********** I'm a-gonna-gitcha-ferthat, ya varmint! (Spoken in full Yosemite-Sam mode) ;o)

Nope, you're wrong. If it's bad, if it's evil, if it's unpleasant, if it's uncomfortable, if it's just plain a Huge Pain in the Ass, then - it's MICRO$OFT's FAULT!!! You need to study your cybercatechism more. Sheesh! ;o) (just doing my part)

[[ It's a matter of adjusting winzip .. Instead of clicking Save full path info UNCHECK it and it will zip everything without that my mywonderfulpreciouslovelydownloadfiles folder I learned that when i was zipping up something and it wouldn't zip without storms/runtime]] ************ You have things in folders actually named "...stormsruntime...whatever"? ? ? I was under the impression that all Poser stuff HAD to be in "...Poser 4runtime... whatever." This sounds like you could have DOZENS of various folders under Poser 4, EACH with its own whole ...runtime... setup - (i.e., ...Poser 4stormsruntime...; Poser 4clearskiesruntime... etc. ) something I did not think was at all possible w/ P4. On the rare occasions when I have zipped something, I never had it put anything in the path, but I assumed that when that was checked it would put in the ACTUAL path to the files, i.e. the usual "C:Program FilesCurious LabsPoser 4...etc." or in my case, the far easier to work with "D:Poser 4..." I don't understand how poser works if you have some strange unorthodox folder system, OR - IF you have the standard folder system, how winzip puts in these other folder names that are not in the ACTUAL path to the files. How is it that some people apparently use the "full file path" and get the correct (technically) structure such as ...Curious LabsPoser 4runtime... and others apparently use the very same function and get these other folders put in the path???
Thread: Curiosity killed the cat... | Forum: Bryce
Started w/ Bryce 3 in early 2000. Got Bryce 4 early in 2001. No Bryce 5 yet, as my ancient pentiumsaurus isn't up the the strain. Hope to upgrade sometime & then go for B5.
Thread: Bryce - A Terrain-editor? | Forum: Bryce
I STILL use Vistapro plus an old copy of photopaint3 (old-style flow fill feature, without the use of masks) to custom sculpt terrains for use in Bryce. This combo gives me the best control over all the details I want in the terrain. Once I have the features sculpted and fractalized in Vistapro (still one of the best there is for that particular function) I pull it into Bryce and do the final erosion, slope noise, etc. tweaking. Using multiple terrains for a single scene is the way to go, you can then texture/control each feature separately.
Thread: Suggestion for freestuff providers | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What really IRKS me is the ones who start everything in their download path with something IDIOTIC and irrelevant to the poser structure like: mywonderfulpreciouslovelydownloadfilesruntimetextures........ People really need to make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in front of that "runtime..." in the zip file paths, or the paths are worse than useless.
Thread: Bryce Gurus' Contest? | Forum: Bryce
Oh, and for the animal - nothing pathetically easy like an earthworm which could be done just by replicating spheres/metaballs along a path, I mean something like a dog, cat, elephant, crocodile, etc. -- something with 'features.' Howzzat fer' a "challenge"?
Thread: Bryce Gurus' Contest? | Forum: Bryce
Well then, if "Pure Bryce" is so important, why allow ANYTHING made in ANY other program at all? *** OK. Here's a REAL challenge to the "Pure Brycers" - let's see a "believably realistic" image of a person and/or animal (real species) done exclusively in Bryce (Primitives, booleans, etc.), using ONLY Bryce procedural textures - NO imported image maps. Try THAT for your first "Pure Bryce" challenge. Anybody who can do that will definitely have me burning incense in front of his/her/its picture as a certifiable 3DGod. Who needs to be a mere guru when you can be deified? ***** Agentsmith, I do see your point about the learning - and I will admit that in THIS particular context you are probably right. Just be sure to call it the "Bryce Purists' Challenge" so people know exactly what's happening here. Like I said, it just pushed a button when I saw this come up AGAIN - as it has for every single Bryce contest/challenge/anything-at-all I have seen since first joining the online art community. Anybody know where I can get a locking cover for that damned button?
Thread: Bryce Gurus' Contest? | Forum: Bryce
Well tuttle, you do have a point since it's supposed to be a "gurus/purists" challenge. I guess I'm just a little touchy on that subject because so far in all the time I've been a member, EVERY single time some idea for a Bryce challenge and/or contest has come up, there's always some (usually the same several IIRC) that want it to be "pure" Bryce - which to me just seems to be a way of saying "Let's exclude as many people as possible from this challenge and set it so only a few select persons can play." I could be wrong, but it's always given me that impression - rather strongly.
