Hythshade, you aren't the only one not happy with the most unreliable, snobbish group of buffoons at DAZ. Try getting help with DAZ studio and you might as well go to a zoo and talk to the monkeys because you would get more help and you would probably understand them better. Here is a great example of their help/customer service. My girlfriend who is new to using Bryce decided to get DAZ Studio and give it a try. After downloading it and getting the free models/props she went and bought some others that she liked. There was a problem with her purchase so she did the correct thing, she emailed the sales people about it. A day later she still had no reply so she posted about it on their forum where she got a reply from a member of that site who told her that it takes 2 days for them to reply to emails. Another person posted a reply and told her that he waited 3 days before getting a reply from them. She finally got an email from the sales department who finally sorted out the problem she had, nearlly 3 days later. To me that is very bad customer service. My girlfriend loves Renderosity for their quick replies and the helpful service the staff here gives, she emailed them about something and in no more than 2 hours she had a reply and all was dealt with in a friendly and courtious manner. She reads the forum on here a lot and finds that the members are helpful to all no matter if they are new to 3d or have been doing it for years, she also likes the way that people joke around and still stay OT. She no longer visits DAZ forum or their site, what she calls them i wont post because it is totally against the TOS but she said what you called them is mild to what she thinks of them :)

Thread: .max conversion | Forum: Bryce
for me to run 3d studio max whether it be a trial version or not i would need to have installed on my computer win 2000 or xp which i don't have either of "Yet" Hence the reason i have been trying to find a program that will convert .max files that runs on win 98. Anyway i have one option left open for me and if that fails i'll get win xp later and use the trial of 3d studio max.

what i need to do first is find out what a vertice is :p then i'll connect two of them and give them out as a freebie. Ok i might have left myself open here for some back lash from you drac but hey i'm not scared to admit i don't know what a vertice is. :)
Thread: .max conversion | Forum: Bryce
The car in that image i posted is a freebie on here. It's called Bruttus 7-XR so if anyone wants it go get it but be warned it is a high poly model, 16mb zipped and a mere 61mb un-zipped.
Believe me when i say this, i checked and doubled checked that size, i even had my girlfriend look at the file properties for me to make sure i wasn't reading it wrong. All she said after looking at it twice was "R Rated words for religiuos manure" and she only uses words like that when something really shocks her.

Thread: WIP Need some Direction | Forum: Bryce
I have the same Mech, don't know what the one you got was called but the one i have is called Timberwolf. First off you have done a great job with the female model, the texture of the Mech really suits it but if i could make a small crit on it. IMO it would look 100% better if the Mech didn't look so un-used/new machine look, try adding some dirt marks or even a little rust to it.
Now on with the one thing that bugs me with WIPs like yours, not having a go at you for this or anyone else that does it with theirs.
When you post a WIP like that try placing some terrain in the background, try to use a terrain for the ground to make it look rough.
Even if you don't use it in the image at the end at least it will give others an idea on what you are working towards and maybe give you something to focus on.
The background terrain also helps hide that flat look to the WIP ;)
PS: you know, that model of the female really grabs your eye, well done on that you have really gone and done something totally different with it, i can't put my finger on what yet but i will :) @ Moongoat, if you look at the Mech you'll notice it is further back from the female, if you place them both along side each other as they are now you'll find the Mech would be huge compared to the female.

war, i got 5 items lastnight(australian time) it took 10 minutes before i could download them.
when you place the order and finalise it you get a link on the page that will take you to the download page, make sure you get it with in 24 hours though or it gets purged. PS: that was the first time i had used their store, so i think 10 minutes waiting was great :)

electroglyph, i 'll answer your question first. My current operating system is win 98SE, AMD 1800+, 512mb ddr ram, not sure of the motherboard, 128mb 9600 radeon video card. If i can i want to only change the motherboard and chip for now. Later on mother dear will help me upgrade other things if i need them. Operating system is next on the list followed by a harddrive. I can get an AMD 3000 chip & mobo for nearly $400 but with some shopping around and double talking a sales person i can get the Pentium 4 2.8ghz chip and mobo for $350.00. Now that i know more about the AMD chips i can work out which way to go. Bryster i'll talk to my mother for you, she'll be in your neck of the woods at christmas time. You be a good boy between now and christmas and santa might give you that ram stick ;)

LOL xenic i have DAZ studio plus some props for it. I had it installed on my other harddrive but removed it because of a problem i was having with loading a poser prop into it and all i got from the replies on their forum was "must be something i'm doing wrong". After i removed it one person(Cliff) tried to install the same prop and found there was a proplem with loading it. Anyway thanks, i might drag it off my old harddrive and use it to convert poser files, even though i don't like daz studio it self ;)
