I can't really answer this Photoshop-wise. Personally I think Photoshop and typography are a mismatch. That's why I always, realy always, use Illustrator if I want to add text to an image. So I suggest u open the file in Illustrator and add your text there. Or you could just type your watermark in Illustrator, hit copy and paste it in a new layer in Phototshop. That is if you have Illustrator... Sorry for not giving a better answer, but at least I tried... Greets

Books can be of great help. I only know about Lightwavebooks since LW is what I use, but there has to be a max-book that covers all the basics, just like Inside Lightwave does for LW. Since clothes are organic, I'd get started on some basic organic modeling tuts that can take you beyond the sphere. Once you get the hang of modeling you should look up texturing tuts, since textures define different types of clothing. I've heard from others that max is pretty tough to crack at the beginning, so another option is to sell your copy and get Lightwave. My (humble) opinion is that LW is easier to teach yourself than max. Either way; 3D is never easy, but keep one thing in mind; NEVER GIVE UP!!! Greets

From the looks of it you may have an anti-aliasing problem indeed. After selecting your selection tool (be it the rectangular marquee tool or lasso or whatever) you can check anti-aliased on the top of your screen, right next to where you can set the feather. Also, if you want to fill a selected area, don't use the Paint Bucket Tool, it leaves edges like yours. In stead select the fill collor u desire, choose Edit- Fill... and set Fill color to foreground (or choose black or white or grey if that's what you want) and press ok. Hope this helps, Greetz

Nice work dj!!! The body itself looks great, but maybe the front plate could use some more detail, like some sort of headlights or something... Keep waving, Mikewave
Thread: Character development (walk cycle) | Forum: Animation
Given the advice you already got, there's not much left to say, but I just can't help myself, so here we go... First of all, I love the model and the textures!!! The way the pants move is indeed awesome but I have to agree with luvver_3d on the way the shirt moves. Also, the arms could certainly use a little more movement, maybe try slight rotations starting from the elbows with each step. "something that depicts the tortured soul he has become" Maybe, just maybe, the character moves a bit too smooth to depict a tortured soul. You can try making the walk look a bit more unstable, or let the character hit it's feet on the ground with a little more force, giving it a 'heavier' feel to it. Still, u seem way better than I am, so u do have the right to just ignore my advice...
