I was having a lot of unexplained crashes and my rendering was taking twice as long as it does not. Althought I think this is due to the mess my computer was in. I also play with VB programming and as such I had 5 versions on my computer as well as a couple of DOS ones. Along with the remains of programs I had put on and taken off. When compiling a program for distrubution I was getting version conflicts. After all this I decided to reformat my drive and start again with a satble operating system. I am considering reputting ME back on but not just yet as all is running well. I liked ME when I had it. It booted faster for one thing. Don't let me put you off, my problems were locally caused. Have fun Neil

Thread: Cherry Blossom | Forum: Vue
Hi Mike, I have been around but have not had much to say. :) Yes the tree does look a little colourless but I think I have too many flowers. The pictures I have seen of the cherry blossom trees don't show and leaves, just the flowers. I will have to look a little more at them and see about there centers. The faded object in the background was ment to be a volcano. Now you mention it, it does look a little strange. I will hunt out some DEM's and see if I can improve that. The picture is loosely based on an image I have from a japanese jigsaw puzzle and I thought I would throw in Mt Fuji. Looks like I missed there. :( Thanks for the comments Have fun Neil

Thanks Mike, The button to create the myst is "Fog". This was a new toy for me... But Like you I think it came out great. Glad you like it. I wondered about the size of the skeleton so I will see what making it smaller does. However with a low camera perspective it does make forground objects appear larger. Looking back at the lantern.. it is a bit large. I will play with it some more and create a real one. It is great to see how others view my graphics and I am learning heaps to improve what I create. I appreciate your comments. I am pleased you liked the background and lighting as this was my main objective. The objects came second so I will have to spend more time on them next time. Thanks for the "One and a half thumbs up!" Have fun Neil

Hi, The light settings are default for the "Moon Night" atmosphere. The only other light in the picture is the lantin (UFO - This was just a boolean object I grabbed to play with), and some point lights to light up my name. These were set very low so that they had little or no impact with the image. I find night is hard to do and get the foreground objects lighted so that they don't appear artifically lighted. This I just excepted what the lantin produced. I agree about the plant - didn't notice that. I will move it. I have done another version. This time with rain and puddles. I am going to make some changes after reading these comments and see how it looks then. Thanks Bloodsong Have fun Neil
Thread: To blur or not to Blur that was the question. :) | Forum: Vue
Yea Mike tis a strange thing these computers. One day they may actually work with everything. I have done the reformat trick a couple of times and rebuilding is that funny but it was nice not to have to do it again for this program. Having lots more fun now with the new toy Neil

Thanks Gebe for the info. I think I will play with other things like the registry first before doing a reformat as this is a major pain. I guess the reformat was to the boot drive and if you reinstalled all your software and operating system then it is a version conflict so I have somewhere to look. If I find something without the reformat I will let you all know. Have fun Neil p.s. Thanks Karl I have replyed to your email address

Hi I also have motion problems This strange I am sure I have followed Karls instructions to the letter (I think) but when I render all I get is a normal non blured image. My steps are 1) Create a new picture, selected atmoshpere 2) Added a sphere 3) Pressed the animation button and canceled wizard 4) Moved slider 2 sec in time 5) Moved sphere to new position 6) moved time slider back to 1 sec 7) Render in broadcast or ultra mode Should these steps produce a motion blur of the sphere?? On my computer they don't. I would be interested in comments and wether I should be talking to tech-support?? Thanks Neil

Thread: Landscape Picture | Forum: Vue
It was not really a trick... just the easiest way to put the picture in the frame. Just a note regarding the signature. I have created a model of the signature so that I don't have to use other software to include it in my pictures. Have fun Neil

Thanks Sacred Rose and Bloodsong for your comments. mjustmike - The picture in the easel was just a rendered version of the image, minus the easel and then mapped to a primative plane. I creaded the frame and easel in Nendo. I found the hardest bit was moveing the plane to the centre of the picture frame. I was considering doing another render including the easel and then mapping that one to the plane. I guess I will try that one later Have fun Neil
