Hi, A few months ago I asked about programs for creating paths to import into C3. Since Illustrator is rather expensive I have been hunting the web from time to time. I have now come across a program called "Zoner Draw 4" It will create the paths and they do import into C3 as I have tried the demo version. Best of all the cost is $49US ($75NZ) for the download version. Just thought I would mention this software in case any others ask the same question. This seems to fill a gap when the exchange rate makes other software expensive. I am still going to play with this demo some more before hunting out the credit card. :) Cheers Neil

im using real draw pro.does zoner draw has a trace funtion(i think it is called like that,last time i used illustrator was a year ago,i dont have it)like illustrator?

Hi Daigoro, No it does not appear to have a trace function. It will read autocad files so I will be heading down that path. Still $US49 is easier to afford that $US499 for illustrator or in our money $NZ760. :) Cheers Neil

Hi Mike, Thanks for the info. I got the same info from the carrara yahoo list and I have purchased the issue in question. Now I have to wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive here down under. Just as well I held off buying zoner and saved a few bucks. :) I can see I will have to save for a subscription to this mag as I have not seen it in our shops. Have fun Neil

I have just ordered a subscription to digit so we will now see what turns up over the next 13 issues. Poqmahone. The free worldbuilder is version 2.3 with an upgrade option to 3.5. Still it is still worth it. After this effort I think I had better lock the credit card away. Cheers Neil

Parkie - oops, you're right. My eye caught the 3.5 only, didn't notice 2.3 Still, it should give a good feel for the program. I looked at it longingly 18 months ago, but couldn't justify the price to myself. All things come to those that wait!

Daigoro, Version 9 and 8 work with XP so this must as it is not that much older. I can let you know when it arrives. Poqmahone: Yes the price and exchange rate can really slow down the purchasing of interesting software. I agree that things do come to those that wait but it is still frustrating waiting :)

There is also Corel Draw Essentials. It's kinda light version of Corel Draw 9, but besides some missing import and export filters (dxf) I couldn't find any difference so far. In any case it exports ai files and the overall functionality is very good. Besides that it comes with Corel Paint. The price was about $70.
