my biggest issue with Poser 5 is that it does not support the graphics acceleration on your video card - things could be significantly improved if it did. IMHO Poser 5 is better than 4, if you can look past it being slow and cumbersome, and a memory hog. that is usually what makes the hair and cloth room not "wok" they are slowed down due to the increased poly count and the system cannot handle it. what kind of system are you running? that might be a major factor in your decision

i didnt really like the eyebrows either...here is an updated version.
do the freckles make the skin look better/worse?
note that i have not yet done the skin texture map - pores, wrinkles, etc...

i took the texture for the jeans from a photo, so there were some areas that didn't mesh well, still needs some work there. some more shadowing work is definately needed -i just got tired of looking at it. sometimes another pair of eyes can point out what you're seeing, but not processing. especially after staring for hours! the model is v3 with the david face pose - i adjusted the nose and mouth, little bit of tweaking on the chin. it's so nice to be able to work with a "prettier" male model - i can't wait for Mike 3, if the improvement from m2-->m3 is anything like v2-->v3, he is going to be incredible. (maybe he'll even be anatomically correct?)

that's what i mean though - his hair looks pasted on -maybe some more detail at the hairline will do it. his jeans still look 2d, i have to work on that a little more. thanks! Brooke

i'm really hoping that i dont have to get rid of all my poser files... i have the purchased stuff backed up of course, but all my freebies... :-( it lets me in...but it fights me. i changed the default figure settings but when it opens it says "would you like to save the changes you made to Untitled 1 and that doesnt go away for ten to 12 "don't save's" what a pain, i should just go back to poser4. i never had any problems with that....

p5casualmale.obj is there... also i tried running the patch for figures since i had to reinstall and i got all these error messages - it couldnt update any of my default p5 obj files... what the hell...

it fights, but it opens....it seems i went and corrupted all my p5 .obj and .rsr files reinstalling doesnt help...if i delete them and install over it will that work?

I agree that he should look older, as he is wearing the Dragon symbol. His hair might be a little too red, but that's nothing. If you stuck him in a shepard's cloak he'd defiantely be Rand. Any renders of Perrin?
