Face files can only be created if the figure has a "head". A 'head" not a "Head" or "Skull" or "Pelon" or "cabeza".
Thread: Pose problem | Forum: Poser 13
Figures made in different apps can have different orientation of joints. Poser stores its poses as simple rotations. "Bend the knee 45 on the X axis" But when you apply that to a figure from a different universe the knee joint might be in the Y-axis or needs to bend the other way.
Poses created of one figure seldom work well for a different one.
Thread: Morph issues | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The reason you need to uncheck follow origins is because the dependencies are baked into the clothing when you copy from the regular figure in the scene. When the morph is applied the origins and scales are already matched. Then they get matched again by the included in conforming options and it explodes. If you copy from a developer rig they don't have the dependencies setup. You're clothing will need "Follow origins" checked like is normally expected. You should get a better morph transfer too as the dev rigs have a higher resolution base mesh.
This is why we still need developer rigs.
Thread: Getting these errors, how to fix? | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Microsoft Kinect doesn't really exist any more. Best to just remove the dll. In Poser's program folder look for the folder
...\Poser 11\Runtime\Python\addons
Delete the entire Kinect folder. MS doesn't provide drivers for it even if you had one.

What actually determines a cards support is what "Compute Model" it supports. The minimum required for Poser 13 is 5.2
So, Quadro M6000 or GTX 970 is going to be the minimum.
the Quadro 3100 compute version is 3.0
There's a table of model verses compute version at Nvida https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus

Thread: move folders about? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
The option to remove folders isn't present because there may be assets used by scene you created still in the folder. The morph data files (PMD) don't show in the library but they may be used by scenes.
Deleting a folder has to be done at the OS level. Right click the folder in question then Show in Explorer (Finder). Examine the folder in explorer. If it's truly empty it's safe to delete. Trash the folder in Explorer. When you go back to Poser refresh the library folder above where you deleted the file.

There was a bug that content zipfiles with the extension in all caps (.ZIP) wouldn't get unzipped. They were copied, as still zipped into the runtime folder.
This has since been fixed. Be sure you're on the latest version of Poser.
Thread: won't let me view purchases! | Forum: New Poser Users Help
That will use the same credentials that you used to log in a post on this forum. If you can log in here you can log in the Renderosity purchase tab in Poser. It may not look like it but that that login screen is just a web page, displayed in a "tab" from your system web browser.
Thread: Problems with scenes created in previous versions of Poser. | Forum: Poser 13
I've tried scenes all the way back to Poser 4 and I can't get a crash. There's obviously more to this. Can you open a support ticket so we can examine this more closely.
Thread: exporting poser figure as an fbx into unity 2018-2020 | Forum: Poser 13
There's a "body" for each of the conformed clothes. I the Poserverse conformed clothes are still a separate figure. Game assets don't work that way. Combining all the clothes with the figure and creating new joint parameters for all the newly created, combined geometry is not a simple task. The "Combine Figures" feature in Poser 11 did go away because it made more of a mess that anything useful. As an example the "Remove hidden polys" that it used would remove most of the eyeballs, teeth and even the eyebrows.. It sounded like a good idea but it just never worked.
What it was supposed to do is the following steps.
One possible work flow would be to load all the geometries in one scene. (V4, Hair, Top, Pants) then re-export them as a single OBJ. Make sure the "preserve existing materials" and "Existing groups" options are checked.
Import the combined OBJ into Poser and use the setup room to transfer a V4 rig onto the combined geometry.
You'll probably get the best result by exiting the Setup room and loading a V4 and then re-copying the Rig and Morphs. The tessellated copy mechanic doesn't work in the setup room.
Now save that figure, let Poser make a new OBJ
Reload and export that with FBX. You should get 1 "Body" and more of a game like figure.
Note: I've done this before but it's been I while I hope I remembered all the steps.

There's a bug fix in P13. Probably 2 or 3 releases back that addresses and issue with lights not being saved properly. This is probably fallout from that as the original issue was that all three of the light's color channels were read from and stored to the green channel. We never encountered any crashes from testing but this is the only real change to lighting I can think of for P13.
If you delete the lights before messing with render settings does that prevent the crash?
Also try saving the lights in the scene as a light set then deleting and reloading from the light set. That should correct the lights state in Poser.
Thread: Can I Import And Manipulate 2D Images? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
There's two way you can display 2d images in the Poser scene. The easiest is to use the image as the background picture in Poser.
- Hide the ground in Poser [ctrl]+G
- File > Import > Background picture
- The background will fill the view port.
I don't think that's what you're after though. The other way is "Billboards"
- From Poser props library fine the "One sided square" and add it to the scene
- Switch to the materials room
- Drag n' drop the image you want to use into the material editor window.
- Connect a wire between the image and the diffuse color input.
- Set the specular color to black (unless you want a shine on the image)
If you wan the image to glow like a TV set, emitting their own light. Plug the image map into the Ambient color, set it to white and it's value to 1.0. Set every thing else to black.
You will need to adjust the height and width scale of the prop so it matches the aspect ratio of your image so it won't look stretched.

The library in poser is really just a web page. Make sure Poser is open and try this link.
It's just a local web page, based on Chromium. It uses local network ports to communicate with Poser. It's a made that way so the same interface can connect with the content store and the local library.
