@VWD: subtitles is also fine for me too, but please use a big font so that text is easy to read (my vision is poor, I cannot see the small fonts in videos that easily). thank you!

@VWD: when will the previous videos be available in english? You mentioned that 3 videos released last time would also come out the next week in english too? Will there be an updated demo too?

New videos look very very good, I wish I understood french so I did not have to wait until next week!

@VirtualWorldDynamics: is this feature similar to Marvelous Designer where you can use the mouse to click on a spot on the cloth and then drag it around dynamically to adjust the cloth's position? If so, this definitely would be a very useful feature for people who do static renders so they can tweak the final results. I look forward to seeing a video that demonstrates how it works!

@VirtualWorldDynamics: even if there is no talking in the tutorial video (maybe the audio can be added later) it would be helpful to see the steps. I just want to do simple cloth simulation (I do not plan on doing animation, just static poses) and hope that a basic tutorial can be offered showing the loading of V4 or M4, a basic outfit, and how to make the sim happen. I assume the lite version would have same user interface so the tutorial is useful for both lite and full version. Until then I will try reading the manual this weekend and see how much I understand.

I will finally have time this weekend to try the demo. I am concerned that this will be very complicated to use... are there any video tutorials for beginners available yet? I know how to use the cloth room, would like to see how easy it is to use this tool compared to the cloth room.

I am curious, if people buy now, but then you add some of the new features so that the program is now version 1.2 or 1.3, are the upgrades free to those who bought the original version 1.0?
Also, if the price for full version is $55 if bought directly from you, is the price $29 for the lite version?
I like the idea of the "make compatible" feature!

@VirtualWorldDynamics: I still cannot believe the Poser team does not jump on your tool! Unless they have their own secret plans for a new cloth system, this tool seems to be the perfect solution for their outdated cloth room. No one wants to wait another 2 years for them to upgrade their cloth sim system.
Unless something drastically changes with the way Poser is developed, nothing will be updated for another two years. That's just the schedule they have been sticking to for many versions now. VWD came to light at the very end of Poser 11's development. They would not have had time to include it and make their schedule had they wanted to.
The upside is that as long as VWD is a separate product it can be updated as frequently as the developer wishes.
True, but I do wish the Poser team would accept VWD's tool as an integrated feature. I am always hesitant about buying third-party products since I worry that they developer could vanish overnight for any reason (e.g. they get tired ot supporting it and want to just try something different) and then the plugin never gets updated as the main product itself keeps evolving. Then again, Poser hasn't exactly done anything to evolve the Cloth Room in what, five or six years either....
Maybe like with Paul, they could introduce the VWD feature in a subsequent SR rather than make people wait 2 years.

Actually I like the idea of a lite product, both if it is cheaper and no hassle with dealing with license keys... I am using Poser (and Daz) only for creating still images for my comic book, so longer animation isn't needed (although I do hope 5 sec is enough time to let an item pose properly the way I wish for my final render... my characters have capes that I may need to have billowing in the wind or fly back as they are engaged in a simulated fight with another enemy character...)
Anyway, the Canadian dollar currently is about 27% lower than the US dollar, so having a cheaper version helps out because I don't think I could afford the full $65US right now (unless my comic is finished and sells really well). That is around $83Canadian for me, quite expensive. The lite version pricing means that the cost would be around $50Canadian... still a bit high but that is easier for me to save up for.

VirtualWorldDynamics, so there is no interest at all from the Poser team to include your program in Poser?

@tomyee: The commercial party is not my strong point. A solution that integrates directly VWD into Poser would be much easier for me. I have just written to Nerd3d to see if, already, he would be interested in the program and if so, whether he would agree to integrate it into the version under development. By against, I can already see Carrara users to react because they would not have, in this case, VWD in their favorite program. The problem is not easy. Personally, I'd rather an independent program which remains flexible and integrated with different software. We just need to find a distribution method.
I think if you are just licensing your product to the Poser team, there should be no reason then why you cannot then continue to create an independent version that will support Carrera. So long as you are not selling the entire rights to your code to Poser (although they might give you more money for that) then you should still be free to continue to make the product support other platforms.
Having your cloth sim directly inside Poser would be a good advertisement for the standalone product too, just because it's obviously more prestigious if you can cite the fact that a long-time commercial 3d package like Poser is featuring your code. And great for those Poser users who don't want to deal with dongles or license keys obviously. So many people complain about the current cloth room (including me) that they need to come up with a better solution sooner, not two years later in the next release.

The distribution of VWD has still not found a solution.
I suggested this to someone at the Poser team, why not offer it to the Poser developers to incorporate into the next release of Poser itself? It could use this kind of functionality very very badly and then you wouldn't have to worry about dongles or license keys, just maybe get a lump sum payment and some royalties afterwards?
My thought is that if your tool is successful, the Poser team may copy its functionality and build it into a future version anyway (similar to how the Reality plugin may soon be made obsolete because the new version of Poser will now have built-in support for PBR) so why not just sell it to them before they go ahead and make their own?
