So, does this mean I can save some cash and not update to B5? Honestly, other than the tree lab and DOF, I haven't heard any great reasons to upgrade. (Guess that leaves me out of this months contest unless I get really creative with bools...)

I believe the one point you all are missing (aside from the search for a 3d model of a poodle) is the fact that whether Cat or Dog, you folks don't own these critters, you are owned by them! "Oh no I'm not! I just had to cancel my trip to Italy because Schnookums doesn't like Kibblz n bitz...."

Do you have Tweak UI? If you do, run it from the Control Panel and under the Repair tab use "Repair Reg Edit" (You can get Tweak UI from Microsoft) Also, if in doubt, after you uninstall, go to regedit and search for "poser", "curious labs", "metacreations", etc and delete those references before you reinstall. Be warned, tho- playing with the registry is a fools errand and I won't be held responsible for your having to completely reinstall windows!!! ;-)

Okay, so I'll make Bryce 4 and my brain work a little overtime. I got a couple of weeks to figure something out... I hope. (of course, I feel I've already been outclassed by this "wip")

Congrats, Vile, but me thinks you're an old pro, so I must learn from the cadre. As a newbie, I enjoy seeing what can be done (and how I can do it, as I believe these forums are all about learning). So, relish the victory; for as I learn from you, someday, you shall learn from me... (tongue firmly in cheek.) Very, cool pic. But watch your heinie....

PC magazine has a utility that helps you identify those processes that are running as to if they are safe to shut down. The utility frees up alot of resourses being used by windows and many other third party apps. If the link doesn't work, the utility is callled "EndItAll" and can be found at www.pcmag.comThread: Bryce to Poser? | Forum: Bryce
As mentioned many times before, only "editable" objects -- those imported (obj., dxf, etc) or those made with the terrain editor or lattice editor can be exported.

Lots of ways: You can use small plant, rock or shrub objects, or you can blend in textures. Lester Troughton has some great DTE tutorials that may help point you in the right direction.Thread: Poserworld Downloads? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This has happened to me as well. Watch for the file size during download. If the file is, say 1.5 meg and the download says something considerably less, re-download.
Thread: Invisible Lattices - Anybody Else? | Forum: Bryce
Definitely a RAM problem. I found Bryce does weird things anytime a file gets close to HALF the total RAM. Also, have atleast 200 or so megs of disk space available for file swapping and use the task bar or ctrl-alt-del to shut down any unnecessary programs (and there are lots of them).
Thread: Pictures or drawings of cities | Forum: Bryce
A general search of the web should land you a few pics (try a google search of "rennaisance cities") or some such. Also, keep in mind that ships of the day had to either sail into port or be tugged by rowboats, so most piers and quays were either strait or parallel to the shoreline.
