I completely agree... I actually sent an email to Michael (MallenLane) to thank him for the light preset... I just LOVE it so much... :)

Pariah - by those standards then what I had thought about selling would have been fine... my directories were all laid out how they should be, none of my textures had seams, I even had MAT files that worked to change the coloring on certain parts, I had multi-materialed parented props that would've loaded for P4Female and P4Male, but it was still not very good in my oppinion, and I'm the one that made it... maybe I'm too critical of myself... I'll shut up now... at this point I think it's at that "wait and see" stage, and I'll bite my tongue (which hurts... there's metal in there!).

I don't know if they're listed here, but at one point I saw Mimic-able figures for the default poser4 animals... I didn't download them, but I think it was just the poser 4 animals that had phenome morphs added to them, I think it was at the PFO though, I'm not sure, you can check.

Hands Eowyn a kleenex... do they have kleenex in Finland? I'll look at it when I get home... I'm surprised I don't get in trouble at work for being online so much... but then when you're in charge of your department, who's gonna yell? :) Oh, it's nice to be chief... just kidding.

Well... now I don't want to get anyone upset at me... anyone who knows me knows that I'm a pretty nice guy and pretty easy to get along with... I guess I see things from a little different perspective than a lot of people who've posted here... a lot of you (not all, but some) are vendors as well... I don't sell anything here, or anywhere for that matter... I thought about it once, but then I realized that what I wanted to sell wasn't very good... of course at the time I thought it was great, and I thought, "Wow, I might be able to make a couple of bucks." I even put up a picture and asked if anyone would want to buy it... of course no one said anything about it, and I thought everyone just had BAD TASTE!!! Just kidding... but honestly, I went back and looked at it wondering why there was absolutely no response, and I realized that it just wasn't very good, and I kind of don't blame anyone for not wanting it... I would've felt ripped off myself if I had bought it... but now I'm way off topic... so my point... I guess I see this as a good thing from a consumer stand point... it's a reassurance that what I'm getting is worth my money... If I had gone ahead and tried to sell my stuff before people probably would've bought it, and they may or may not have liked it, but if something like this were around, I could've put it "through it's paces" before it even got that far, and I could improve both the quality of what I wanted to sell, and my own modeling skills in the process... frankly, I'd love people like Mehndi, and Dmentia, and Thorne to tell me what I could do to improve my skills... and while I may not like everything about the way they do things, they are good at what they do, I don't think anyone would argue with that... Additionally as a consumer, I would feel better knowing that something I was thinking about buying had been tested and found to meet certains standards, I would feel better about buying it, and again it wouldn't stop me from buying something that hadn't been tested, if I wanted it, and I thought that it was a good product, I'd still buy it... Wow this message took me like an hour to finish writing... silly people I work with kept interupting me... sheesh ;)

I may have a way around remapping the bikini top that might work... this won't involve having to remap the bikini either, so you'd still be able to sell the textures... you'll need to load the bikini top by itself into poser... go into Lit Wireframe mode, this'll let you see the polygons... you may also want to make your background black, it helps to see a little better... open up your grouping tool and select the body parts where the texture isn't applying right... create a new group of the polygons on the top edge, and anywhere else that it's not working... export that as an .obj make sure you select all of the body parts... bring that into UVMapper and go to select->by Group and select your new group. That'll show you where on the template those polygons are, so you can adjust your own transmap to be solid black right there... I hope I'm explaining this well... if I'm not explaining it right, or if you want me to try it just IM me and I'd be glad to once I get home...

What figure are you applying it to? If I have the figure, and if you want to send me the transmap I'd be more than happy to take a look at it (I'm at work now though so I won't get a chance until later in the day).

Answers - :) TeenOob - Okay, so maybe she does look like Pocahontas, but that wasn't the goal, but I guess it's a compliment, considering how much money they paid those Disney people to make Pocahontas look like that. ;) Her hair is pretty up on her face, but I just put it there to get a better view of her face... hair always helps define the shape of the face. Famine - I've got a slight highlight set for the skin, that's probably what is making it look shiney... that plus the lighting I'm using... I use that particular light set because it tends to pick up flaws more, so I can spot them more easily... do think it looks shiney in the second face picture, the one with the blue and pinkish lighting? I don't think I could sell it, I've borrowed a "bit" from another texture... let's just say I couldn't get her "nether region" to look at all human by painting it in... Gladiator - Her eyebrows actually aren't painted onto the texture map, they're a transmap on the "Upper Eyebrows" so you could actually repaint them on the transmap, and create different looks... the transmap I'm using right now isn't mine, I'm going to make one after I get the texture how I want it, and it will be thinner. ;) SAMS3D - Thanks Sharen! I plan on making a few different head textures with different made up looks. gryffnn - Part of the highlights are texture, part of the highlights are from the lighting... I'll have to test it in different lighting schemes to see how it reacts. Thanks again everyone for you comments, I'll keep at it, but since it's the regular week now I won't be able to work on it as much... have to do the regular job thing or they don't pay me. :)
Thread: Shimmy! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Marque, great image... I was at a used bookstore this past weekend and found a book called "The Secrets of Belly Dancing" and I had to buy it to use as reference for making belly dancing poses... I'm going to try to get started on that project shortly... so I have no real comments other than I think the picture is great, and it's a pretty realistic looking "shimmy", I just thought it was a funny coincidence. :)
Thread: Cartoon display, a question and ideas please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you're using Victoria, the problem is probably because she has, I guess it's a cornea, in front of the rest of her eye to produce better reflections... in a shaded, or textured views, you can see through it if it's set invisible... I'm not sure if you can do that with cartoon view... I think the actual material is the one set for "eyeballs", see if that's made invisible, if it is then you may have to figure out a way to move it out of the way... or it could just be that the iris and pupil don't have a color set...
Thread: help with lingerie texture needed | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You may also want to look at the figure itself in "lit wireframe" mode, to see if there are polygons there that maybe just aren't being covered by the transmap... if there are you can always put them in a new group and give it a new material that's set invisible... unless of course you want to make the texture/transmap available to other people... then you'd have to figure out where/if any polygons aren't covered by the map...

Pocahontas?? I think that's just the hair... :) I'm having fits trying to get the body texture... :( A texturer I'm not... I'm getting the hang of faces, or at least putting make up on already done faces, this is the first time I tried my own from scratch, but the head texure I'm pleased with... I'm just not having much luck with the body so far... but I'll keep at it, I should've started this project Friday night, instead of Sunday afternoon, at least that way I'd have had more of the weekend to mess with it... thanks everyone for you input so far... I'll try to keep everyone updated.
Thread: No blankets. Don't Poser people get cold in bed? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Traveler had a bed prop with a blanket as one of the Bbay club downloads at one point, you may want to check and see if it's available in one of the "retro" sale packs... the blanket wasn't posable, or even have many morphs in it, but you could always make some of your own... you can see a picture of the bed itself in my gallery image "Bedroom Boredom" (well part of the bed anyway -- and fair warning the image has nudity in it)
