haha...you all gave me a good laugh this morning :) Thanx "Great pic, ground-shadow aside. Is that royloo's skull prop? " Little Dragon......The actual object for the skull was downloaded it from a free site somewhere as a 3ds file with no readme attached, so I do not know the origin. I would like to know it because I would like to put the texture I made for it up in the marketplace, because it turned out fabulous. Rawn

I try to find decently large images online from photo resource sites such as www.gettyimages.com and use them to sample my textures from. or even just a google image search (www.google.com) can sometimes yeild good results. Rawn

Actually I should have been clearer....I am not so worried about the bump, but more for vein textures, the spidery pattern that can be applied to the membrane. Rawn

I am no expert either....but crosstalk is when you have two objects in a scene that have similar group names, and as such, when modifications are applied to one object the same modification appear on the second object. For example if you have one Mike character who you made short and fat, and then put in a second mike character, he too would take on those short and fat attributes.

Transparency maps are the best way I have found. I was just doing a torn look on a flag this evening before I posted this. I put a black box along the edge of the object (on the texture map) apply the wind filter and save it as a transparency map...it works wonderfully.

I like to use the burn tool in photoshop to paint blemishes like that onto the texture. Rawn

Damn....I just had that problem a few weeks back and posted it here. No one said they had seen it before, so I felt it was some weirdness of my own machine. I wish I could tell you exactly what I did to cure it, but I kept messing around in many ways. Reinstaling didnt seem to help, so what I did was clean up the hard drive. I archived the old files (all those props which I wasnt using) on cd, then cleared the space on the drive (even though there was 2 gig available anyway), then a defrag. Then I went away on a weeks vacation (I think that part could be optional :) )...and it seems to work fine again now, so I didnt question it :) I seriously think it was the defrag that helped. Rawn
