sounds like you're leaving the "apply to entire figure" box checked instead of unchecking the box & selecting the respective texture map to go with the desired target area.

Nance I don't have anything posted anywhere... too lazy to either put up or maintain a web page :-) But if you'd like I can send you something to play with... drop me a note at cooler@ameritech.net or ICQ #1523909.

Being a habitual tinkerer I did some mucking about trying to defeat the system :-) I tried format conversions from jpg to gif, jpg to bmp, jpg to tif, and several variations thereof. I went back & forth from 24 to 8 bit color & tried a screen cap... surprisingly in all cases the watermark held it's integrity & was readable by the digimark scanner (which is also included in PS & PSP) In fact the only way I was able to defeat the system was by significantly altering the picture either by editing manually or using a plugin. Now the only codicil to all this is that the watermark is only readable by the provided scanner at 24 bit color & up, so if someone really wanted to grab one of your graphics they could convert it to gif & the watermark would be unreadable. However if you convert it back to jpg (even after saving in gif format!) there it is again :-)

Digimarc (http://www.digimarc.com provides a free digital "watermark" & comes packaged with PSP & PS. They give you a unique ID number & will let you display your contact info for potential customers once you register. You can, for extra $$$, even add enhancements which will allow you to track your pics on the web, if necessary. Additonally once a graphic is watermarked it cannot be overwritten, at least not a digimarc. I tried once on a misdated piece I did & got an error msg "There is already a registered watermark present" :-)

You don't necessarily move the entire new folder... all you have to do is copy (or drag 'n drop :-) the files from the patch folders to their appropriate Poser folders

This is the readme file from the Poser patch I d/l'ed from Larry Weinbergs' site...(http://www.ghosteffects.com) To install, you will need to manually copy each file to it's proper place within your Poser folder. !------------------------------------------------------------! !!! It is important to remove all of your current plugins in RuntimePlugins and make sure that they are located completely outside of the Poser folder (not in any folder underneath Poser) -- or are deleted. If you leave any around, you may wind up with two menu choices for the same import/export choice and one of them will be likely crash the application. !------------------------------------------------------------! To install, copy each file as noted. The files in the update are stored in folders whose names tell you what to do with them. 1) Remove all of your existing plugins in the "Runtimeplugins" folder underneath Poser (as noted above) 2) Backup (or delete) your old Poser4.0.exe executeable file if you wish. 3) Copy all files from the folder called "Put in Poser Folder" to your Poser folder. 4) Open the "Put in Runtime" folder included with this update. 5) In each of the folders located in "Put in Runtime" you will find files or more "Put in..." folders. Open each of these until you find a file that isn't named "Put in..." and copy it to the appropriately suggested folder under your Poser folder. Hopefully you will find them all. For instance, underneath "Put in Runtime" is a folder called "Put in Geometries". Inside that folder is a folder called "Put in maleCasLo". Inside that folder is a file called "maleCasLo.obj". You would then copy this file (maleCasLo.obj) and put it into the runtimegeometriesmaleCasLo folder under your Poser folder. Good luck -- and please don't find any more bugs.

schnaps I have the "deluxe" version 4 of Adaptec if you have the same to get to "Spin Doctor"... at the open screen click on "audio CD"... you should get a menu of "audio CD" "spin doctor" & "back to main"
Thread: OFF TOPIC, please help with Burner problem!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't know what kind of burning software you have but Acaptecs' Easy CD Creator, (I got ver 4 with my CDR-W :-), has a feature called "Spin Doctor" that regognizes mp3s' as music files & makes an audio CD out of them.

Np... I'm just kind of sensitive to bugs because I was up til 2am reformatting HD's & reinstalling backup files because one of the ofice dweebs decided to share a "cute" exe file he d/l'ed at home & the virus he actually got ripped thru 6 networked machines :-)
Thread: An idea to make giving credit easier........... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Something I thought I'd share that solves a lot of "credit" problems for me with d/l'ed models, assuming of course there is a readme with the model. 1) Always read the "readme.txt" before installing 2) Create a folder in your root Poser directory called "ReadMeFiles" 3)Save the readme.txt to that folder (remember you already have it open :-) but rename it to a more descriptive title (if necessary :-), e.g. "Bushi-eyes.txt" or "ziggy-table.txt" It's not a hard system to implement and makes it a lot easier to not only find a creator when you need permission to use something, but also makes you look really smart when the "who made this" questions come up here from time to time & you can answer them :-).

Not necessary for me at least, I have a copy of the original myself & you did a great job :-)
Thread: So goodbye to you all here - Maier - Schlabber will leave this forum ... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
arcady I don't see much similarity in the situations at all...noone went ahead and put out a compilation of "The Best of Renderosity" w/o asking permission of any of the artists, it was simply an idea that was suggested. In this case the poses were offered to the community at large, with no effort made to even locate the original posters, much less ask prior permission. As to your "witch hunt" charge I didn't see very many people screaming for Maier/Schlabbers' head on a platter. In fact if you reread the threads you'll find that more people felt sympathetic to what they chalked up as an oversight on her part & that the subsequent ban was an overreaction.
