Ah! Okay. I'm awake and more coherent now. thanks for the advice. I did try that a little last night and it does, indeed, look funny, but I understand the point of using it that way. I'll try working with it like that a while and see if it works for me. Thanks again for your invaluable help!
Thread: Resetting BUM maps when test rendering? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Doh! It's late and I'm tired. Wha???? Are you saying you load the .bum "texture" on INSTEAD of the skin texture? I'm sure what you said is simpler than I'm reading... TygerCub (wandering off to bed now)
Thread: Many questions.....Smiles | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Here are the programs I use to create textures for models: Adobe Photoshop 4.0 Paint Shop Pro 5 Microsoft Office's PowerPoint (hehe!!!) You can even use the Paint program that comes with most computers now-days, but beware... .bmp files are HUGE and will eat up your resources and bog down your machine quick! Good luck. If you want to know how to use PowerPoint as a paint program, drop me a line. TygerCub
Thread: .ZIP makers-- don't specify a file path! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have to disagree with saying files starting in "Runtime" are okay. I, too, tend to put downloaded files in separate folders than are specified by the author's zip file. This is because I may not wish to keep certain files after downloading and it's easier to find a file in a folder >I've< created rather than having to hunt through the Runtime/Geometries/etc... or Runtime/texture/male/etc... (as the case may be). As Macximus said, the Read-me's are invaluable. But the programs that are written to automatically place files in the Poser folders are a real hinderance. Just my 2 pence worth.
Thread: Hash Animation Master - anyone?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is VERY interesting reading. When I was ready to buy a modeling/animation program, it came down to a major decision between Poser 4 and Animation Master. My husband wanted Poser 4, and I wanted AM... I'm glad he won the toss! I love using Poser and the support in the community is outstanding. And the props that are available constantly inspire me to learn more so I, too, can get something cool out there for the masses. Just my 2 cents worth. Poser 4 was a great buy.

I'm game to give it a try. I used Anim8or to create the Orc morphs on the P4lo res man and it worked out wonderfully well. Let me get hold of this tonight when i get home and I'll give it a try...

This is very cool. How did you scale the "floor space" so the poser figs will fit inside?

"Woah!" You mean I can't just press and, POOF, it's done? This may take a while. I don't have a website of my own yet, but that shouldn't take too long to correct. Now all I have to do is learn how to use my Winzip(R) to actually ZIP something instead of just UNzipping... Thanks for the great instructions. Hopefully, I'll have this thing up later this weekend.

You can also open the Poser 4 male and female models in P4, then change their age. Go to: > Figure > Figure Height > Adolescent Add appropriate casual clothes (scaled down to size), the appropriate teen's "Oh, Gaud, Mom!" pose, and wa-la! Instant teen. Good luck.
Thread: Dragon-Animation - what's wrong? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Good sequence. Nice animation. The only possible thing I can see that you may want to adjust is the right "hand" of the dragon (in foreground). Towards the end of the sequence, when it roars a second time, the hand seems to come up and open before sweeping back. This is very static and doesn't seem to flow. Try moving the hand up still open, then close into a fist, and come down again. If you keep that within the second roar sequence, it may help. Look foward to seeing the completed sequence. How long did this one take you?

HEY! Pesky Drybones are a pain in Oasis, huh? Great scene. I really like the skelly's pose. But the ears on the elf... Can't say I agree with having them stick straight out like that. A little too anime for the game. If you scaled them down and swept them straight back as shown on the characters, then they'd be perfect, though. Ears that size would almost look right on a gnome. On an elf... Keep up the excellent work! Love to see a fellow EQ'r!

If you are looking for "clown gone psycho", try posing her in a more normal stance... After all, the psychology behind clown phobias is based on the possibility of violence in a trusted, usually innocent figure. The more innocent the pose, the creepier the figure becomes. The face is perfect, though. Love the look, but I agree with Dave. She needs more whites in the eyes.
