Greetings Everyone,
For the new PHP look, I'm at a mix of feelings. The new features seem great. However, nagivation seems not to be very intuitive--I'm getting lost too easily.
A few gripes:Â
Some of the layout seems very good. I really like how when I click my gallery page the overall layout of it is pretty nice, although for older images in my gallery the captions are a bit strange with "uploaded ago" having missing the number of days.
The "tool tips" that appears when the mouse moves over a thumbnail is annoying. It appears too quickly--would be nice to have a delay, or an option for a delay. I've done this in my own pages so I know it can be done.
Â
I guess what I am looking for is the ease of use as the old design had. Like the archives being right up there on top of the gallery.

Thread: Q about name change | Forum: Bryce
Re: Incarnadine... I know, in fact you might recall my first IM (and first IM in Renderosity I've ever done) was to you about the name. I was one of the main administrators of the official Castle Perilous online game, back in those days, and the strange thing was a year before a player came to us saying he did digital art. So when I saw you, I had wondered if you and him were the same. But contact the author if you really wanted to use the name. As for me, Death at Midnight is a play on the title from an author friend of mine who wrote a novela "At the Stroke of Midnight" about the Death character I role played (at the time.) Some authors might like the publicity a name gives for their work, as long as its done in good taste, which your artwork certainly is. And as for the author of the Castle Perilous books go, you have a good chance. He was very easy for us of the game to base it on his work. --DM

LOL :-) Too bad about not being able to change screen names. I guess I'll continue being Death at Midnight, although the name no longer fits the original function. But the responses to this thread really made me laugh on a stressful Friday. Thanks all!! Really needed that! :-D Cardinal Bryster sounds pretty good, and Lord Sackrat, also! --DM
Thread: Green or Blue | Forum: Bryce
Hello! This is hard to choose since both are really great. I would have to pick green, since the green plays with the imagination, making surfaces appear aged or slimmed with some deep ocean algae. --Death_at_Midnight
Thread: Waiting for Bryce 6 | Forum: Bryce
Yeah, with Poser 6 out now, I keep thinking when will there be a Bryce 6. Does anyone have knowledge what's the current status to Bryce, what company has it now, and if they are doing anything to further develop it? --Death
Thread: Not Tiling an Image Texture | Forum: Bryce
Everyone, a big thank you! This was much more help than I had ever expected. I have tried the suggestions listed here, and finally understanding what that image editor was all about. I am not having much success, it seems I have better results when the object has vertical parts than horizontal ones (I'm getting good results along the vertical axis, but the image is smeared along the horizontal.) I think what I shall do is rebuild part of the origami crane and see about texturizing that, working small, and building upon it. Playing around with it right now I think I'm getting close... --Death_at_Midnight

Thread: Advice Needed | Forum: Bryce
Rats! I've got access to Poser, but only found a Raptor model. I keep seeing people credit models and objects from a wealth of sources, like DAZ... which leads me to believe these are addons. Hrm. I'm wondering if I can manipulate that Raptor into a dragon and add wings via terrain object. I'm afraid I'm not very great with Poser, but practise makes perfect. Thanks for the advice, all! --Andre (Death_at_Midnight)
Thread: Thank you and here's the April Challenge theme. | Forum: Bryce
Okay, I just uploaded my entry to the challenge. Now I'm wondering if it's okay to upload the render to my gallery also?
