I barely got to know ye creativeguy59, but I followed your comments which I felt have been well thought out.
My feelings are similar, especially on the time sink issue surprise.
I'll have said my piece, too, and if they want to go back and read it, they can.

@4222332
Wasn't me. I swear!
Oona, did you want this perhaps in one of the Gallery related threads??

I'm beginning to think there's a bunch of people out there who have gotten used to texting but may have not done very much programming. To someone coming from a texting experience something like 'Markdown' might be cool because it expands what you can do with your fingers. I'm sorry, but I don't think it's cool in a 3D graphics environment, though.

TO ME 'MARKDOWN' IS A HARDER WAY THAT MAKES INNOCENT VISITORS DO A FORM OF PROGRAMMING JUST IN ORDER TO COMMUNICATE.
IT'S LIKE SAYING " MS-DOS IS BETTER THAN WINDOWS BECAUSE YOU HAVE LOTS AND LOTS OF NEAT TOOLS! .........SEE- HERE'S THE MANUAL FOR DOS TO PROVE IT!"

Fabiana (and other vendors) - I'm with the other 3Ders. Love your products! This is temporary. May walk away for a bit, but not planning to abandon the site.
I figure either sales will drop off for a short period, then pick up as existing people get used to things and new people are attracted. Or they will really tank with no pick-up and Renderosity folks will have to act. If that is the case, this is where all our comments will be helpful. All these people writing obviously care - the worst case would be nobody writing! And I expect there may be adjustments (I'm thinking in PRIME, mostly) as Rendo and vendors together feel out what will attract buyers and keep artists. I don't think what's there is going to work as it currently exists post change, but I think it can and will be salvaged.
Meanwhile, this thread was a good one to start reading... I thought it was really funny (sorry moderator)...LMAO-2! the thought of needing a tutorial to navigate a website that is selling things! ( :-D) Except for the timing of the announcement among the bigger issue of really bad visuals, it's actually not a bad idea sometimes to have explanations about the nuances and where to find things, especially through custom search engines.
Thread: I'm liking the new layout! | Forum: Community Center
I agree with Baggins Bill on Page one, and PTOUsig in the specifics listed.
I was thinking that the site was being designed for smart phones or something because it is so dysfunctional on my desktop that I find it hard to believe the redesign was intentional for my type of system.
To the person who commented that the forum format was better, I have a question. Where are all the simple basics to underline, resize text and make bold? On my machine you have to click on a blue "Markdown" text (what the heck relevancy is 'Markdown'?) and then basically program in your underlining etc. via special characters.

The last site make-over of Renderosity made it harder to use, but I eventually fo8und ways to compensate, such as using the horizontal bar rectangle in my browser to rescale everything to 80%. It never really solved the problem of image bloat for promos, but it at least made it tolerable to view the market product pages and the PRIME pages.
This site has now taken the things I disliked about DAZ and brought them in AND in addition somehow managed to make itself even harder to view and navigate.
I have been saying for the last two years that Renderosity has gotten "click Happy," never failing to take the path of making more clicks to a purchase rather than less. To me ithas shown a fundamental disrespect of the artists and customers who participate and the value of their/our time spent on your site. Now, in addition, Rendo has decided to make me go through contortions just to view what are supposed to be the important marketing pages on the gosh-darned site??? Egads!!!
Even the basics were dumped here in the forum -hard to mess up you would think - in Renderosity's apparent zeal for change, perhaps just for change's sake.
What happened, for example, to the simple and basic tools to underline, resize, italicize, and make bold text here in the forum??? What, are we supposed to click on the "markdown" blue text, read it as if it were a privacy and terms of use statement and then become software programmers putting in assterisks in various numbers before and after the words we want to emphasize just to write a post???
Aren't most artists still working on a desktop or a laptop? I mean 3D needs horsepower. Or is it that the site is being designed for viewing on an iphone or something? The dysfunctional layout just doesn't make sense on my machine. It's not fun to read it's just hard. Assuming I'm not missing anything..... =>
Sorry guys, WORST LAYOUT TO DATE ! ! !
And I'm not talking aesthetics. Just fundamental usability.

Thanks TiggerSprings! Sorry for the delay, I just checked the thread.
RE: Creating Poses that do not affect morphs
It sounds like editing the fc2 and Cr2 is the way to go and I have to find a tutorial somewhere that steps me through what need to get rid of to create a meaningful pose or expression that won't affect morphs. I do have morph manager and I think I used it for something a while back, but not exactly this problem. More likely something clothing related or clean-up related. I'll take a look at 3D Universe's Pose repair as you suggest. Since you've given me the thought I'll also search through D3D and Phil C. Offerings.
I read your diagram and I pretty much do most of what you suggest already, even though I don't understand why I do it. For example, I do not yet know what 'Goal Center of Mass" and 'Center of Mass do' other than I thought that if you had them as functions turned on they would try to balance your figure in a realistic manner, which never seemed to quite work for me. For saving poses I do uncheck the morph channels box, but, again, I'm not sure if it does anything for me.

Thread: Poser 11 Sneak Peek | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just spent the better part of my early evening today going through the 15 pages of "Poser 11 Sneak Peak." I like the parts where I learn about what is happening and I would like to see more about Poser 11. I am appreciative of Nerd for posting.
[edited for reference to deleted posts]
So far I have learned that Poser 11 is proposing a new renderer which is not faster but supposedly better than the existing Firefly. I have learned that I should take a look at my video board to see if for a hundred or two hundred dollars I can potentially make a BIG increase in my rendering time and quality. I learned that Blender, which people used to dis as awkward and painful to learn, is challenging both Daz and Smith Micro on certain fronts. I learned that Firefly, with some tweaks, can be made good enough to have quality approaching that of the proposed Renderer, but that it doesn't move things forward to put much effort in that direction. I did not learn about any deficiences that DAz has that poser is blowing by them with - since what Poser is implementing can apparently also be had as add-ons from reality and Octane if I read things accurately.
In the details of knowing the quality of the renderings posted here the people of this forum surpass me. I don't see the things that many of you do, such as in the gun stock that was rendered, this despite having some reasonable knowledge assessing quality of images in the graphics industry. I personally got a "new" computer finally about a year ago now and have spent my time exalted in the luxury of creating renders that I don't have to do overnight (I think I am finally in the camp where most everything I do can be done in 15 minutes or less) and in being able to work with A/O and focus distances and in motion blurs. I am only now looking at shaders. If you had asked me before this thread whether I wanted a new Renderer that would slow me down again, I would probably have said it was not a priority. But it is you all, into the details like this, who push this forward.
My question is, what else does Poser 11 potentially have??
One thing I would like is on the heirarchy tab to be able to check off multiple boxes then execute all the checks at once. I find it really annoying for the program to have to execute one check box at a time and wait for it. Corel back in Version 5 or 8 or so recognized a similar problem and corrected it. They're at version X7 now I think (17). I don't really like it that the material room is ALMOST the same yet works differently than all the other functions attached to the Pose room (Char, Pose, Prop, Lights, Camera, etc). and re-alters the location of my library pull down and properties pull down which I typically have open everytime I switch from, say, a prop or a camera to the material icon. I'd like to see some improved physics. Someone (I think RDNA) mentioned a 'Rope Room' Concept along with a way to create tied knots that would be neat. This could be tied in to a better way to do IK perhaps. I'd like to be able to drop things down onto a surface - they way they do on the ground plane - and not have characters plummet through through chairs and stairs and second floors like ghosts. I don't like it when I import a scene or character and the imported scene overwrites the lights for the scene I have been working on.
I have knowledge in some of these areas and big holes, too. Some I may be living with just because I haven't learned enough yet.
I can say that when I went to Poser Pro 2014, one of the things that had been new for me was the search engine to find things in the runtime libraries. At the time I was as enthusiastic then as I am about a new, slower renderer now. But after having it and using it, I would not give it up for the world and go back to earlier versions that did not have it.
But, in the end, after 15 pages I ask, other than the proposed new Renderer, what else is happening?

And WandW - your links were helpful and your Baggins Bill quotes made me smile!
Sorry I didn't post to this Aiko3 thread earlier. Till July 31 it was doing my version of the TiggerSprings thing of trying to decide what I wanted out of Clearance and Prime items the most. I read and followed links but was bad by not writing to express my appreciation at the responses.

"Yep, I totally understand your concern about expressions that don't change morphs. I have a couple of older packs, by vendors whose products that are usually reliably good, that change morphs. I keep telling myself one of these days I should go through and fix those packs (for my own use)... But, part of me thinks if I'm going to go to that sort of trouble, I might as well make expressions of my own expressions that don't have the issue in the first place....."
Is it asking a lot to know what you have to do to make expression (and Pose) morphs not affect a character? I actually once went back to a base V4++ to create some poses and expressions for my other characters based on V4 to use. All I wound up doing is setting my other characters to the V4++ with my expressions/Poses. Also, I have a great set of Freebie Pixieluna (I forget - expressions or Poses and whether V3 or V4) that were probably early versions but wind of changing the character's appearance. For everyone who responded to my Aiko3 expressions ( A3 a3expressions) request, I thank you very much. I has been greatly appreciated. I have pulled a lot more from the Aiko3 freebies than I would have expected, though as was noted there really aren't all that many expression morphs to be had in total - paid or free.
