Thread: Another Diablo 2 (Expansion) character and more Sketch Render stuff | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ookami--You stink...I'm working 12 hour days building servers and upgrading email systems and you're creating better versions of the stuff I've been working on. :-) Really nice job. Where'd you find the blades (whatever they're called)? I like the shoulder armour too. GrayMare

Works fine for me with IE 6.0 Beta and about the highest security settings imaginable. It did try to burp on the .cgis on download, but went through fine. GrayMare
Thread: Realistic Looking Braids? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In his "people" section John (http://johnontherun.ezdir.net/) has a character called Leticia. He's cut and pasted many different hair parts together to make her hair, but has an add-on prop that I think would do what you're looking for. I had render problems that I just gave up on without contacting John (out of laziness) with the actual hair, but the prop renders well. It doesn't have a transmap, but there's likely an easy workaround by using either the transmap curls texture (avaliable on 'rosity) or the funky texture used on the dredlocks available somewhere. Hope this helps. GrayMare
Thread: ALL MEMBERS READ THIS! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A lookup on Yahoo doesn't get this person's profile. Get the header from the email (if you're on hotmail or many of the free services you can do that relatively easily, if on your own email system it's even easier, but if you use a client with an ISP not so simple. In the header is both the originating IP address/user and the routing addresses. Yahoo has a "report abuse" email account (I can't find it right now :P) that will help you with this. You can also read their Terms Of Service doc to help figure out how to approach them. The person has broken 5 or 6 of the "rules" with this email, even if they're spoofing the IP/email addy. http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/ is the TOS doc. This email suggests a person just used someone's legitimate service to commit a felony. Use that information to press charges, and if the authorities can't figure out this electronic stuff, then you should pursue it--or let one of us help. GrayMare

Hey ookami--whose bracer and collar did you use for this image? I really like the near exact match you got on the sorceress' outfit! You didn't make the midriff shirt short enough though ;) How'd you light the ball on the end of the staff? Reflection map or spotlight or?? GrayMare

At Masa's site you also should get the dropmaker program too. It lets you convert the "hair" into water droplets. Decent ones at that. 'course, I've only made hairy cubes and spheres..(almost said hairy balls.... GrayMare

You can make windblown hair with the wave generator. There's a tutorial on poseworks at the link below. You will have to play with this a bunch to make it work well. GrayMareThread: Looking for jeans with holes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Pick your favorite jeans transparency map. Open in your paint program. "Save As" new file name. Use PSP or Photoshop custom brushes for hair (instructions for creating your own available on Kozaburo's site) to create a crosshatch pattern using a light grey color in the areas you want to appear worn or white where you want holes. The lighter the color, the more of a hole rather than a worn spot. Use this transmap with the transparency settings just as you would any other map. Voila' (or Viola, as my son would say). You can make realistic looking cutoffs or frayed hems this way too. I'd offer the ones I use, but they are derived from other people's maps, and I'd be uncomfortable posting them without being able to remember whose they were... If you don't have any transmaps for jeans, you can get the texture template from the CD and paint on another layer above it, then fill with black. That works too. Good luck, and show us what you do! Thread: How can I improve this pic (realism wise)??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
She looks good to me--I like blue eyed redheads, but don't tell my blonde wife ;) You ended up with the "red dye #3" hair color that does show up in RL, but only on dye jobs. If you add more brown and gold to the teture map for the hair, it looks more like a true redhead. I do that mostly on the texture map using one of the "hair brushes" and occasionally just a fill in PSP/Photoshop as a layer below the existing texture. You could add a slight "wet" look to the eyes in post--I don't have much luck doing it in poser without ending up looking soggy :) The eyelashes look ok to me, but they would be improved with tweaking the transmap or an add-on prop. Thanks for posting and being brave enough to take comments..I'm working up to it myself. I'd rather publish it as "finished" than accept criticism during the process. GrayMare

Muahahahaha.... Time to die..Here, I have something for you... That's the closest to the real deal I've seen. I've been working on my own Amazon (spearazon and bowazon), with plans to build sorceresses and Assassins next, but the armor's been hardest to match. I have taken the same tact you have and actually "feminized" the amazon face, and not overdone the breasts as Blizzard does. Again, Nice Job, and it does achieve the more traditional art feeling that you're going for. GrayMare

I've been playing a lot with your mermaid, and have been wishing I had a merman to chase her :) I don't have Michael (or Vicki); just haven't wanted them yet. GrayMare
