My WIRS tales claim seven (7)ย parallel universes, of which four of the 'other earths' even have very similar day-lengths to ours.
One featured what we'd call 'Atlanteans', with 'Third Law' tech. Snag is they over-fracked their failing geo-thermal tap, covered equivalent of our Eifel region in flood-basalt, with volcanism still active. Local survivors fled via 'World Gates' with portable tech, cut a swathe through our 'High Bronze Age'. Seems Hancock {Spit !!} was half-right about his 'Clever Ancients'. But, when those 'magic' widgets ran short of 'manna', their owners managed to similarly 'Chernobyl' another geo-thermal tap. Blew Thera (Santorini) half-way across Eastern Med....
Most 'Atlanteans' who'd simply 'hunkered down' became increasingly isolated, in-bred, toxic, degenerate. Some used the few remaining 'World Gates' to access, even hunt other parallels. Those who came here likely spawned tales of devils, Weres, Vampires and 'Dark Fae'.
Atlantis' Westerly fringe, cleansed by Atlantic storms, may have kept a modicum of civilisation until our Middle Ages. Hence, 'Light Fae' and such...
The anaerobic 'Seventh World' is weird, possibly a mini-Neptune. Its bigger denizens may have spawned theย Cthulhu Mythos. Fortunately, no Gates are big enough to pass the 'apex' beasties, they can only feel around with kraken-scale tentacles. Lesser types tend to be protean shape-shifters, collapsing to green Ectoplasm when stomped...
Between these, the post-post-industrial (??) Lizard People and a zoo of 'False Positives', my 'Walsingham Institute for the Regulation of Supernaturals' is kept busy...ย

After trying far too many DS export menu 'differs', I've managed to get Kalea Rogue (a #7) into FBX format (FBX_2012) that Poser likes.
Figure is rigged, clothes 'conform', textures auto-load, may be posedย within wary limitsย using first sub-rig.
But...
1) Export from DS may take a long, long time.
2) Clad #7 figure's FBX is ~90 MB, later #8 and #9 may go through 100 MB...
3) FBX may take a long, long time to load but, happily, at 100% default...
4) Poser does not seem to like complex FBX files and/or texture calls, may become unstable and crash. So, be sure to save scene often....

Thank you for mentioning this tutorial, as it may solve my query about 'spiky MTV couch' material which, so far, I've been unable to generate via displacement maps.

I did a sorta fix for such a texture by 'tiling' it in free Irfan View. File size as JPG was less outrageous than expected...

I'm running P_11 plus a Network Render 'Box'. After returning from a decade out due a multiple HDD mega-crash that killed a lot of my back-ups' back-ups, I finally installed the #7 I'd bought prior, then a budget #10. Discount-upgraded that to #11_Pro, now #11.3. I've many 'points' towards #12 or, now, #13, but neither seem to offer much benefit. #12 apparently changed the material room unto 'complex' with epi-cycles within cycles --And no 'finder map' !!-- with #13 still too early to say. This CAD-tower's twin GPU cards are now too old to really benefit from #13's drivers.ย 'Box' is VGA-only, but its 16 cores render rapidly in queue's CPU-only mode.....
FWIW, I recently spent a chunk of my upgrade fund on Truebones' ($$) 'PMX to FBX' converter. At present it only dies rigging and hues, textures must be hand-loaded. Update perhaps pending. And, as of an hour ago, I finally figured how to export clad + rigged DS figures to an FBX format Poser likes. Freebie Kalea Rogue (# 7), exported as FBX_2012, is currently rendering on 'Box'...
Thread: Ancient Weapons of Poser Creation? | Forum: Poser Technical
Some of the wondrous tools crafted by PhilC are no longer available as he's mostly-retired and down-sized his offerings.
I was lucky enough to get his PZ3 editor, which may be the only practicable way to dismantle old PZ3s, extricate the components...
Especially when the referenced components are now in different folders to original...

"You can export an fbx, but anytime you got new content for it, you would have to export that too..."
Thank you.
Um, sounds similar to porting XPS / SFM / PMX to Poser: Provided FBX's sub-rig count stays in single figures, good to go...
FWIW, I've a menagerie of free DS figure packs from #_5~~7, such as Kalea_7, I'll see how that goes...
Sorry, text tad terse as 'Duty Cat' is enthusiastically sub-editing,,,

Can you export clad figure from DS as FBX, import that ??
I'm still hoping a Poser Guru will find a reliable work-path to export a DS figure as OBJ then dynamically drape that onto a morphed Poser 'carrier'...

Not quite in same league, but I've just been wrangling a couple of budget multi-format 'golf carts' from another site.
Poser, of course, took a serious dislike to the rigged FBX: Not only did the many materials not call the supplied mapped textures, but the cart roofs were skew to carts. My usual trick of zeroing rotations aligned one roof parallel, but that was all.
Time for 'Plan_B': I re-exported the FBX from free Noesis. Now, loading this FBX at default 100% scale prompted Poser to ask me to locate those meaningfully named textures. I also had to manually hide the set's vast sky/backdrop, tint windscreen glass and dial to ~85% transparency...
FWIW, scene complexity crashed my twin GPU cards' superfly render, I had to switch to CPU-only. Networked 'Box' not available as doing a belated Windows' update...
