I respect everyone's opinions but when they are utter hypocrites about stuff saying one thing but doing another, it rubs me badly

I am assuming TwiztidKidd got permission to use the Britney Spears image they photoshopped in a reply to me in another forum specifically for discussing AI art before they blocked me for example, otherwise that too is stealing someone's art.

Or all the AI art them and the other user who blocked me are posting while saying how bad others are for using it

I have been quite clear about my own feelings on it,
I am on the fence

trying to see both sides

and getting rocks thrown at me by both sides

that's a lot of stone throwing and hurt coming my way simply for discussing/debating a topic

Partially off-topic, but I'd like to share a thought.

What really saddens me is that some of the members flooding the gallery with AI generated pictures are NOT spammers or spambots who joined a week ago.
Until recent times they used to be 3D artists; the older pages of their galleries are full of DAZ and Poser artworks, often decently done.
Then in late 2022 or 2023 they jumped on the AI bandwagon and they are not producing anymore 3D art.
It's starting to look like the Borg assimilation or the Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

I too downloaded StableDiffusion on my PC and I made some experiments but I would never post pictures produced typing a prompt on art sites.

I still do 3D art too

That's funny-I never touched AI art... OK, I am openly critical about several issues but I thought that's what civilized discourse is for. Oh well.

I don't upload it to galleries just the dedicated AI forums, social media and YouTube stating what it is.

I figured people could just hide that forum if they don't want to see it.

lighting will do it, make sure with scene selected in the outliner the ambient is set to zero

you probably want to use distant light (not sunlight and the sky or realistic sky options)

the crescent shape will come down to your camera angle in relation to sphere primitive I assume you will use

that said Carrara does include pre-sets for Earth and other planets

all the safe links to the free ones I use namely Pulling Shapes Roadkill and Lith Unwrap are dead sadly

I use Ultimate Unwrap 3D, Carrara, Hexagon, iClone and Zbrush to export UV templates 

Blender should also do it

The only issue I have with ignore functions is they still show you someone else who is or you are ignoring has posted. I would prefer no post showing at all, otherwise it is a legitimate tool for keeping the peace and avoiding conflict.

Of course curiosity will get the better of one seeing a hidden post and one will read it by other means anyway which defeats the purpose.

A filter should do just that, filter out unwanted posts, images etc.

if it's who I think it is, I am blocked by them too, in my case because I believe it's because I posted ai art, all the ones in that forum are blocked by them and a few other users, the only difference is they previously posted ai art in that forum

Open a browser in incognito mode or sign out to see who it is and what posts they made, it may twig your memory or give you a hint why they blocked you, I know a whole bunch of users have blocked people who post or use AI art generators for example so there can be many reasons.

Sadly the way this forum works not displaying older threads easily is what discourages me from posting here, Carrara forum at DAZ going back 5 pages is not unusual for me, here you just cannot.
