Thread: They mustive thought I was crazy | Forum: Bryce
I've had that on holiday, when I was taking close up pictures of walls and bits - Prague tube stations have amazing potential texture-wise! I think the locals just assume (rightly) that I'm English, and that warrants strange behaviour...
Thread: Bit of a Model | Forum: Bryce
I'm for it - a WINGS user, and I mentioned Morrissey a while back  anyway... Tom - I made the textures from royalty free images with HUGE amounts of layering and alpha channels (hence they're still not finished). Death_at_Midnight - its a flattened sphere witha volume cloud mat applied and ambience ramped up some. An old trick I learned while trying to get a blowing dust type look - Didn't achieve it but it looks cool still.

Thanks for your kind words! danamo - Original bits made in Wings3D, then assembled and textured through Bryce 5.5 I'm working now on detailing the cockpit section - its a bit bland at the mo. Maybe it needs some 'score' notches or something. (Perhaps this should be in the wings forum, but I posted it here because I only have the complete model as an obp file, and when its done I may offer it up in Bryce freestuff if anybody wants it. Not that I know how to do that, mind)
Thread: finding the best recent bryce images | Forum: Bryce
I like Dann-O's idea. Thinking about it, wouldn't it be possible for members to simply select the galleries they do want to see? I'm imagining something like the forum page, where forums can be hidden and preferences for each member memorised. If you could just check options about which galleries or genres you wanted to see that would be good.
So far as i see the whole Art Chart/Hot20 rating thing is complicated by the fact that there are people who will rate just about anything in the Poser gallery.
Thus I've ignored the Art Chart... and I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything, since I still see huge amounts of incredible work by you guys when I look through the galleries.

The problem with not viewing forums regularly is that I miss out on ICM's wonderful cover versions... That'll keep me smiling for days.
Thread: OT - While the Smith's Away...... | Forum: Bryce
Sorry if I brought back some painful memories there Bryster :) I don't like Morrissey either, or Take That! Or a fair few others I put there. But they are from Manchester, so thats why I put them. The Inspirals though are one of the coolest bands on the planet - Clint Boon DJ's for my local radio station too :) Sadly Star4mation, Boddies moved 2 years ago to Preston. Which is why the ads only say 'the cream' now. A terrible shame.

Manchester, England, UK Stone Roses, The Smiths, Inspiral Carpets, Happy Mondays, Badly Drawn Boy, The Bee Gees, The Chemical Brothers, Take That, Doves, George Formby, Joy Division, Nine Black Alps, Johnny Marr and the Healers, Morrissey, M-People, Oasis... Mani(Primal Screams' Bass Player) Amongst others. Its never quiet in Manchester :) I'm not into all of the above, mind
Thread: Ok I need help making a movement (& a wake) in water. Love to hear the ideas! | Forum: Bryce
You could try making a wake terrain, then altering it through keyframes to produce a rippling effect? Then link the terrain to the back end of whatever is causing the wake and see how that looks.
It may be easier to make the terrain height map using Gimp or something - I expect you'll get better control over the ripples that way. You'll probably need one for each side of the wake too.
Not that i've tried any of that : )
