The number of long legged hollywood breasted Fairy/ vampire/tribal tattoo covered /jolie lipped characters resulting from vicki, makes me wonder, is this just what everyone likes? or simply a lack of flexibility in the base character?
so...........I ask the question again,(sarcasm not needed.. doesnt render very well) does anyone have any suggestions on generating body morphs for this character? preferably an external program that would not cause polygon matching issues.
I think a lot of the people who do fantasy art grew up with artwork from people like
Vallejo, Olivia, Frazetta, and so are trying to emulate their work. Look at some of
that art. Victoria has the ideal figure to emulate those characters. Posette, Judy,
and now Jessi just don't have the morphs right out of the box to create those women.
They aren't trying to create Ethel down the street driving the kids to soccer practice,
they are trying to create Esmeralda the Gypsy Princess.

Quote - I don't know of any way to do exactly what you want, except deleting each unwanted morph channel by hand in "Morph Manager 4".
I do. Just go to the REM folder for the individual morphs and start clicking on them.
People, it's easy, I do it all the time, and no, it doesn't take away the morphs I want
to keep. Stop trying to make it so hard and going 50 million other ways when the
solution is right there in Poser and your DAZ files that you bought and paid for already.
Has anyone else actually ever looked at ALL the pose folders you get when you
installed the DAZ morphs packages?

Quote - > Quote - These are for the DAZ figures, right? Is there a reason you can't use the REM files?
When you extracted your morph files, you should have had a Pose directory with INJ files,
and right after that a Pose directory with REM files. So the same way you added the morphs
with the INJ files, you take them away with the REM files. Is that what you mean?Yes the M3. I injected all of the head morphs. If I REM them then I lose the morphs I used.
I only want to remove/delete some of them, not all of them.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Why not just REM only the ones you don't want and leave the ones you do want alone?
Say you don't want Elf Ears 3. Just REM Elf Ears 3.
Dial cleaner isn't going to get rid of the morphs you injected. All dial cleaner
does is hide the blank morph channels, the PBM stuff. So you are just wasting
your time trying to use it.
I'm sort of getting the idea that you aren't aware that there are REM poses for getting
rid of individual morphs. Either you deleted these REM folders and need to re-install
your DAZ morphs packages, or you need to look harder at the directories you
have available and search for the ones that say REM instead of INJ.

I'd say a good way to learn Bryce is to go to the DAZ website.
Click on Support: Tutorial Arcana. The select Bryce 5 and
Oldest to Newest from the View menu.

Thread: M2 Textures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What you might want to do is buy the UTC from DAZ. I tried it and it and it actually works
quite good. The basic unit lets you convert V2 to V3 textures and V3 to V2 textures.
And I also bought the Aiko conversion module. But there is also a M2 module.
I didn't buy it yet, but I think it will let you convert V2 to M2. If nothing else you
could convert a V2 to a V3 and then,as V3 and M3 are basically identical,
use the V3 as an M3 and convert it to M2.
Thread: HOLY SMOKES!!! FYI- Another reason to do away with PNGs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I just did a search for PNGS in my Runtime. Turns out there are at present there are 6,984. They add up to 139MB. Load more stuff in your Runtime and that number is gonna escalate. I don't know about anyone else, but this irritates the @#*! outta me. To whoever said they don't take up much room, either has a small Runtime or just doesn't realize...
But then how would I know what the file looks like? Besides huge hard disks are cheap
enough. Mine is 80 Gig, and my external USB drive is 200 Gig. 139 Mb is 0.17% of
the internal drive and 0.07% of the external's drive space.

Quote - I can see the difference, but I dunno if there's an easy fix. maybe displacement .001 or .01 or something. normals forward etc.
It doesn't really look like a displacement or normals problem. Otherwise those would show
up in the unshadowed version too.
Try enabling texture filtering in your render settings. Everybody says to turn it off,
but that's because it is a resource hog.
But some hair actually looks better with it on if you are willing to spend the extra rendering
time. And you say you are a perfectionist and do want a better looking image.

Peace.
What do you consider something better to do? And why do you think this something is better?

Quote - After far too much b****ring about down loading B5 imagine my supprise, neigh anoyment at that it comes without objects or,more importantly any materials. What's more I see a sky that's not to dissimilar to one I posted(for free) on this very website 3 years ago.
This is what I have been missing???
yuors fuming Mark
Is it safe to assume you only downloaded Bryce5FreeVersionPC.zip
and have not yet downloaded and installed Bryce5FreeVersionPresets.zip?
Because after I downloaded the second part I did indeed have all the
objects, skys, materials, etc. The I went to Rendorosity's Free Stuff
and downloaded all of that that I wanted too.

To be honest I really can't tell that much difference. Anyway, have you
tried turning off cast shadows in the properties window of the hair itself?
Could you show us a screen shot of the hair's properties window?
Also, is it important that the hair cast a shadow onto your background?
Because then this idea might not look right unless you want to add
a shadow of the hair in the background in post work.

I bet Uranus doesn't get "dwarfed"....and if it does...my sympathies, lol. ;oÞ
Hardly. Uranus is a gas giant, the third largest planet in the solar system.
The Earth, Mars, Venus, and Mercury would be demoted from planetary status
long before Uranus.
Thread: 6 Characters TOO MUCH for Poser???? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I always change my bucket size depending on what I have in my scene. If there are lots of figures, props etc, I will lower the buckets. Render time is slower but it's worth it if you want the render to be completed without any problem message coming up that you need to change render settings etc.
If you have Poser 6, it will change your bucket size for you if you have it set too big.
I usually set mine for 256 and let Poser decide if it likes that value or not.
It makes for a faster render even if Poser does drop it down to 16, because at
least the first part gets rendered with a large block. Unfortunately once it drops
the block size down, it doesn't increase it again. Usually it is the head and hair
that cause the block size to go down, at that is usually at the top of the scene.
While the rest is easier and could use a large block size again.
Thread: 6 Characters TOO MUCH for Poser???? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - This ALL helped a LOT!
One last question:
Even if i`ve hided all characters except ONE.... the Render takes a long time with your recommended Settings.
The badest Effect is:
I`ve mimimised Poser while it is rendering. Now i tried to maximise it....and get a "Whitescreen".
Yes, sounds rediculous. But i cant see The workspace anymore.
Because the lightset has 28 lights its rendering the shadowmaps, adds objects etc.
But i wonder if i see the Mainwindow again.... or ..... is Poser hanging????
Has anybody EVER had such "Whitescreen" i talk about???
Thanx People!
Ray
I'm in agreement with the rest. 28 lights is about 26 lights too many. I didn't
catch if you have Poser 6, but if you do, all you really need is one set to
Ambient Occlusion and on set for casting shadows.
I suspect what you have is some old light set that was intended to be used
on Poser 4, and they were trying to fake global illumination with lots of
lights surrounding the character.
Also your texture resolution is a rather odd value. Try setting it to 1024 or 2048 or 4096.
It might not show up in the render, but Poser can deal with it better and it might
speed up your render.
The white screen happens when you minimize Poser while it is doing a render
and then maximize it again. The image will come back as soon as it is finished
rendering the block it is working on and gets ready to render the next block.
