I've uploaded a new version:
Improvements: Better handling of script crash, can now accept adding or removing assets in studio (but don't forget to refresh host list in VWD)
This should remove a lot of sources of Daz freezing, QTScript crash and son on
Working now on the display. Normals are calculated by the native obj exporter from Studio, so I don't know very well what to do, but I'll look around.

*EDIT: philemot, is there a way to confirm that I have the latest version of the bridge? I downloaded from my DAZ PM page, but it still feels like the previous version.
Actually yes. New version has now an icon linked to the script. Anyway, if the one you're speaking about the one with script sources, it hasn't been updated. I'll do it in a couple of hours.
Sorry Ken, I've found a possible cause of DS freezing and the source is actually in full debug mode with logging everywhere and experimental code set. I'll tell you when it's ready to send.

Thread: Not sure if this is VWD or the Daz Bridge. | Forum: Virtual World Dynamics
It's the bridge. In the other hand, I'm not so sure it's a bug. Sending a pose creates a morph. When you send the animation, you send another morph. Both add giving that exaggerated displacement. If you set the static morph to zero (in VWD cloth morph list), everything will go back to normal.

Is the beta a closed or public one?
It's a closed one. As soon as I'll have solved the bugs reported by the the closed beta testers, it will go public.

I've just uploaded a new version:
Bug corrections: Removed erroneous improvement on collision and cloth display stop hiding props and figures
Improvements: Better handling of script after VWD crash -> ensure previous script is finished before launching another one
Miscellaneous: Added an icon to start script
Link for downloading new version is still the same.
Next improvements are focused on Win 32bits compatibility Script crash when adding/removing nodes in scene while VWD is running

Now this looks like a bug; but not sure if VWD or the Daz bridge. I loaded VWD, but I'd forgotton to duplicate the hair as a backup in case something went wrong.
So I duplicated it before I added the hair in VWD.
When I added the hair in VWD, it continually processed the hair; I had to close VWD and Daz Studio.
It's a bridge error. Once you have loaded the list of figures/actors in VWD, it will crash if you add a new node in Studio. Building internal node lists takes surprisingly a long time in studio, so I cached it to save time. I don't know, I'll have a look if I can protect the cache or connect a signal so I can clear the cache in such case.

It defaults to 30, and I never change it.
I'll have a look but, since I corrected this point in the V2 of the beta, I've never encountered it...

Sometimes when returning, a pose series, the last frame does not get returned.
Anyone else seeing it? I haven't yet found a common denominator.
Could be a rounding issue. What FPS do you use ? VWD works with 30 FPS and the frame number has to be converted when Studio uses a different one.

@Writers_Block, could you send me the log file after a crash ? It would help me understand the situation ?

@Marble By chance, would you have subdivision turned on for V7 ? That would explain the delay being specific to Studio. Anyway, the draping should take place in a matter of seconds, not minutes. If not, there is a problem somewhere.

Gérald recommend twice the number of actual thread number. You can try to increase it but it won't make much difference.

Couple of suggestions - first is that progress indicator (or something similar) and the second is an option to open the Scene Viewer to a Window rather than full screen. I don't see a way of doing that.
I think the drape stops before it completes but maybe I need to know more about the settings like gravity, etc. The present test is with a V7 floating so no contact with floor. The dress should fall to touch the thigh on the high side and fall towards the floor on the low side. But it stops short of that as though the cloth is quite stiff almost like metal.!
Did you nail any vertices to the collision ?

Not necessarily . I may have been a big quick in my answer. When I say cancel, it was just clicking on the "stop static simulation" button because the the simulation has reached a stable stage and it was useless to wait for more. Now, I can't tell you why it didn't go further. Maybe you should turn on the "show stress" mode. When nothing is red, there's no point in waiting.
