It's the bike that was talked about in a previous post, I had a picture so I figured I'd share... I think it's called the RRV1 or something, if I knew who sprout was I'd tell you, I think I got it from Props Guild later jb

Ah, so you've rounded the corner and turned 30 eh? Just be glad you don't live in "Logan's Run" (or the 60's :) I started work at a new place on my 30th, it was my placement year from Uni, I knew nobody and none of my mates were back for the new term yet. A thorougly miserable day. But then I met women, and the rest of the year improved markedly :) So a belated Happy Birthday, enjoy it, it goes remarkably quicker from here on it :) later jb

Well I've been busy this weekend, so busy I haven't been to sleep yet, 4 hours of sleep in 68, (not bad for a 35 year old, I didn't know if I could still hack it, of course I'm halicinating like I was on the drive back from Bulgaria, but that's another story :) I spent the weekend integrating some of the stuff I downloaded into my install, upgraded to 4.03, played around a bit, posted my first 3 pictures, got involved in talking to people, and searching for things others were asking for. I'll admit it has seemed slow compared to last week, but the "free stuff" went live on 3D commune, and I'd seen almost none of it before, I even checked out schlabber's site again, downloaded a few things... :) So, tired, yes, but happy! I hope you all have a good what's left of the weekend.. later jb

You can get most of the morphs, from morphworld 2.0, (link at right) for the rest of it, go to renderotica, and 3dcommune (3d.a1hostco.com) they have a fair amount of stuff between them and both have seperate vicky sections. The 3D Commics collective also has some props here: http://www.3d-cc.com/DL_pages/PR05.html as well as a few characters based on vicky, (like she hulk 'fr instance :) later jb

I'm up to 4.02, but I'm doing this from behind a firewall so I don't fancy using 4.03... Cheers for the link, I shall download and install. I'm now at 1600x1200 (I had to resize poser22's new wallpaper) everything looks very small now... later jb

I rendered it at 3am, (it's 5am here now) so that comes as no great suprise :) Actually I just used the pose that came with the bike, I was simply experimenting. later jb

Video cards, hmmm, interesting thought, it does lock occasionally to a point where only a hard reboot will do, and so far it's died twice so that I've had to boot into safe mode, and fire up explorer to download and re-install the graphics drivers. I'm running the latest set, (about 10 days was the last install) of the unified Nvidia drivers, I've got a Nvidia Riva TNT2 64 running at 1280 x 1024, in 32bit, I could go up to 1600 x 1200 and see if that changes anything I guess, failing that I'll drop back to 1024 x 768 and see if that's any better, though I'd still be interested in a Linux (or QNX, BeOS or BSD) port :)

I don't want to defrag the disk, I schedule that every night, I want something that cleans up memory, the O/S is as leaky as hell from what I can see I want something that will return memory to the "free" pool once it's been used. There are quite a few such utils for the mac, and UNIX doesn't need them, but I figure somebody must have written one for the PC... As for 98, I'm running a fully patched release 2. I don't want to run NT because half of my apps will stop running and W2k is a joke, it runs 20% slower on my machine, due to its pathetic attempt to keeps itself afloat. Supposedly they included technology to stop you having to reboot every three hours, but this involves a lot of internal plumbing that has to keep watch on itself, hence the slowdown. later jb

I installed 98 over NT, because in most cases 98 is preferable, more software works on it for a start, I don't have to login to it every time, etc. I just can't believe the O/S is this crap, they've only been writing the stuff for 15 years, it's not like it's new or untested or anything, and people wonder why I've avoided PC's all these years, This has never happened to me on a UNIX box, and the only time I've ever had a Mac crash on me was when I tried to import any image into word 98 for the Mac. I suppose what amazes me the most about all this is that people put up with it day in day out, the sun is bright, water is wet, windows is crap. later jb

It's interesting to note that Betty has become such an icon, (even more so than Marilyn Monroe) of female sexuality to those of us over 30, that she has chosen to "dissapear" from the public gaze these many past years. Last I heard she was a grandmother and still very much alive. She was the original "bad girl" and some of her pics while cheesy are classic 50's Americana, the very stuff of legend. She was the poor man's Marilyn, the woman you could (hopefully) "reach out and touch" There are still magazines published about her today, and her films and pictures are all collecters items, avidly traded/collected by fans. As a side note, the original comic of "the Rocketeer used Betty as the love interest, she was a model too. It was drawn by a bloke called Dave Stevens, who certianly knew how to capture a likeness :) It's kind of a shame that Jeniffer Conley got to play her in the movie, having read the comic... :) later jb
