As a Roman (might have) said: "Hottus Dammus!" ;o) Those look really great. As usual, you guys are the tops. That membership at PWFW is definitely one of the best buys around.
Thread: galleries are such a pain | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep - it's either wait and wait and then FINALLY a page comes up, or (more and more often these days), I get "Action timed out when trying to connect" or "Connection refused" or it just goes into "Resolving Host: Renderosity.com" and never connects at all. It's incredible frustrating and getting more so with each passing day. At this rate before long it will take an hour to load a page IF you can get in at all. I though things were supposed to get better after the server upgrade. :o(
Thread: Introducing ... the Schlabber-P5-combined poses | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Are any of these and/or your future poses going to be usable by those still with P4, or are we already just out of luck?
Thread: Non-Poser images in the gallery | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Why is it there are so many people who seem to think they should be absolutely exempt from any and all rules, regulations, etc? I've seen it time and time and time and time and time and time again - people posting stuff that is PLAINLY in violation of the TOS they agreed to when signing on as a member, and then SCREAMING bloody murder when they reap the well-deserved reaction to their misdeed. If you don't like the TOS, post someplace else. There are lots of places to go. If you want to post sexually expressive images, go to Renderotica - that's what it's there for. That's where I post the things I make that I know would violate the TOS here. I have absolutely NO problem with that arrangement - there's no reason why anybody else should. I get really tired of pathetic jerks whining "but I should be exempt from the rules that apply to everybody else". WHAT BULLSHIT! Some people need to grow the fuck up!!
Thread: My Stance on Poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
While I don't have P5, I have certainly found that the ALLEGED undo feature of P4 is a major farce. At least 9 times out of 10 that I have tried to undo ANYTHING, nothing happens. It's so unpredictable and generally uncooperative that I have resigned myself that there simply is NO actual undo in Poser (not even one fully functional level, in any case). Now I hear that P5 is no better. It seems to me this is one of those BUGS that was carried wholesale from P4 to P5 with absolutely no attempt to fix it at all. THIS is "taking time to do it right??"
Thread: A article of interest on EULAS | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Prediction: It will get MUCH worse before (IF) it gets any better. The way things are going, M$ or some other 'biggie' will soon be inserting clauses in their EULAs giving THEM exclusive full rights to anything YOU create, and giving you NONE. Wait till M$'s new "Longhorn" OS is introduced in '05 and you have to pay monthly in order to use the OS and will have to accept 'automatic' login to M$ EVERY time you boot up for "authorization" to open the OS, or be cut off from all your own files. (Betcha those monthly fees will be 'ever-increaing' too.)

[[ I mean really... if we were talking about XP, where an entire computers' worth of data were held hostage, then I'd revolt. However, nothing is being held hostage here...]] Only that, BIT BY BIT, as this type of method is implemented here, and there, and there, and there... - the public is 'conditioned' to be 'used to it' so that when the XP next version with its "pay-by-the-month", and "MUST connect via net to get authorization EVERY time you boot" (or you are cut off from all of what you THOUGHT was your own data) system is implemented, the 'public' will aleady be used to these abusive schemes and will think they are normal. If you don't object to each small chip, and ignore it's happening, DON'T start acting "surprised" when the chipping has eaten all the way thru the trunk and the tree falls down!
Thread: Partition against present Poser 5 Activation Security System: | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
[[Part of what worries me is that since Microsoft XP, everyone seems to be trying to use this sytem. Imagine if other products were like this.]] REMEMBER, Microsoft's GOAL is to eventually have ALL windows software on a pay-by-the-month system which REQUIRES you to connect to M$ for 'authorization' EVERY time you boot up (and if you do not pay them, they can CUT OFF your access to all your own files by remotely disallowing use of their operating system). *** I have had endless trouble with dongles, including one software item I used a lot but the company dropped support for that version and then the dongle went bad and their attitude was "tough shit. Well, now you have the opportunity to upgrade to our newer product" I didn't want their damn newer, MUCH more expensive version which had in fact DROPPED several functions from the earlier version which I used a lot. THere are too many issues with this whole system. I'd need far more room and time than there is here to go into my whole feelings on it. I have stated many of them elsewhere. I hereby SIGN!

Too bad they can't spell. A "horde" is a huge group of people - like the "Mongol Horde". What they have is a Dragon-HOARD. :)

You left out the old and very STRONG tradition here of people making utterly unintelligible and probably quite meaningless posts in which nobody can figure out what was actually said due to the weird sentence structure and bizarrely juxtaposed words, not to mention the other fine tradition of posting in totally meaningless gibberish, as madyuri demonstrated above. C'mon now. We can't have you, or anyone, leaving THESE fine traditions out of your sterling list of the other ones. We have standards to hold down. ;o)
Thread: Ummmm..Curious Labs, might want to take a look at this... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Frankly, I'm amazed it took a whole week. I expected to hear news of this the day after it was released. Though I've never been to Kazaa or any of the other of those sites (I definitely believe in 'legal' ownership and copyrights), I sure hear about them often enough. It does make it pretty plain that the protection scheme does absolutely nothing to stop the warezers, it only harrasses customers. That, however is certainly not "news", everybody knew it already.
Thread: I was wondering if Poser 4 will be really extinct? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's the same situation with Poser and Bryce. Bryce is a far far far far FAR better place to set up a scene, especially if it is complex.
Thread: I was wondering if Poser 4 will be really extinct? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
[[ Of course P4 is good enough to deal with Millenium figures but I bet that within a year nobody will speak of P4 anymore. ]] You are assuming that EVERYBODY who uses Poser also has the ready cash to upgrade both software AND hardware right now, or in the immediate future. I don't think so. THere are many people who just can't do that. Also, lots of those new features do NOT export to other programs like Bryce. For those who do scenes which do not center on one or two figures but are much more complex, Bryce or other programs are still far far better for setting up scenes than Poser. I for one do not expect to EVER render scenes in Poser, regardless of the version. There are a lot of others in similar situation. Yes, Poser 4 will gradually fade into the background to a certain extent, but I don't think it's going to be 'extinct' for some time to come.

That's funny, I bought it for only $20. I'll try to see where that was and get back to you on it.
