I think it was Edward Weston that said: "If it doesn't look good, you didn't get close enough." When taking portraits, get close. Use a mild telephoto, and fill the frame. If there's any extroneous material, it should tell a story.

This is at the entrance to Forest Hills Gardens, built about 1920. NYC abounds with places like this. Unexpected. It's in Queens, one of the boroughs. The Bronx, which has the worst reputation, also, has some of the most imposing architecture. Most tourists wonder around Times Square, Midtown, and the Village, and never see much.

It may be using more sensors in B&W mode.-It takes 3 sensors to define a color in COLOR mode. It may be using those extra sensors to add detail.

You might consider cropping out the road, zoomig in to the earth formation, and printing it with a bit more drama; more contrast, darker, darkening the corners a bit helps with this kind of photo.

2 megapixels is fine. Use Qimage Pro. It's dirt cheap, has a 30 day demo, and does a wonderfull job of print interpolation.Thread: looking for clarification | Forum: Carrara

Why don't you just load the OBJ file into Bryce? It should load without any problems. Also, there's no need to create a new UV map for an object created in Poser. If the OBJ format gives you trouble, try 3ds. Also, if you need to convert formats, use 3D Explorer, available at: http://www.xdsoft.com works much better. Which version of Bryce and Poser are you using?
Thread: Carrara Bug Reporting... | Forum: Carrara
C'mon Guys, this is the first positive news you've had in years. Maybe the people at Metacreations didn't forward the bug report. It doesn't seem that they cared at all. If the people at Enovia are anything at all like the people at CGS, you will find that they are VERY responsive My experiance with Amapi has been one of GREAT technical support. If there is some sort of merger of the two programs, you will wind up with a great result. Maybe the first step is to have a plug in type of interface with Carrara. There is such a thing for 3D Max. If you install the plug-in, you can model back and forth in Max and Amapi. Anyway, give these guys all the help they ask, you will be helping all of us. I've been using Amapi for about 4 months, now, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. It's very easy to use, with tons of modeling tools.

The DC-4800's batteries last for about 250 shots if you don't use the LCD, about 80 to 100 using it all the time. and processes the pics in about 5 sec, but you can take pics in succession since it has a 16mb cache.

I bought the Kodak DC-4800 and I'm very pleased with it. Lots of control, good image quality.
