I think the response to this post is very thought provoking and I see some very good and wise tips by my friends. Honestly, this project was not started or done with the aim of making money, it just landed up. Secondly, I wish to make ti known to you all that till recently, I was on net thanks to a sponsor from Greece who is an American Citizen and who has been a great friend for years on net. She and me started working on PSP 4 years back and reached the level of giving online tutorials in Animation and Graphics to about 400 online members for free. The Online group had to be closed as we found ourself growing to diff areas of Graphics and could not stick only to PSP. I am quoting this because I wish to let you all know that I am not financially too brilliant to start charity on my own. ;) I have been living on one, practically. However, I think I will consider the wise suggestions and leave it for the publisher to pay what he thinks is just and jump out of the confusion of having to charge. As for the Bible.......... Well, I am to charge him yet and I really have no clue so I am asking around. Firstly, this publisher is more like a charity organisation who just publishes Bible translation in Hindi. He doesn;t publish anything else and is not a very big or lucrative kind of publishing house. This website for which he needed the pics is being built by someone on charity basis, no payments charged. So , considering all that factor, if I covert to dollars and tel you, its like roughly 200$ for innumerable pics I clicked. :O)) SNAKEY

I fine croping more meaningful than resizing. Just my thing I guess.:O)) If you check my gallary, I have posted a SUNSET. Look at the thumb, it looks wow..... click... the image is not as sharp. I feel it is a sort of diappointment when that happens.;

cyn, Honestly , I never went back to the thread after my last post so I have no clue what the final agreement was. I just browsed through some of the posts and went with it. I even had a doubt about the crop so I din't crop it , I just resized it....... as for thumb, I need to redo it now??

Lets start all over again.

This is a Photography Challenge.

Photography can be defined in a simplest language as something you capture using an instrument called camera, position yourself in such a manner that you get a certain angle for the view.lights etc., Ofcourse, what you are capturing is as important. This is a snakeys definition, no book definition, when I say snakeys, it means, a laymans.;)

What we mean by Photography Challenge..... Photography Challenge would be the test of skill in...... using the right instrument for capture, at the right time, at the right place, with the right kind of light suitable to the mood and if the image can speak more than just merely a picture like I just happened to comment on NarayanKows post, all the more better.

Post work...... Post work would mean, trying to hide the flaws in capture, manupulate the lights in the capture, manupulate the colors, manupulate the mood itself using Potatoshops.

Finally, there needs to be a distinction between posting something for a challenge and posting something neatly dressed. We want to see the bare dare , no cover ups.

Then again, not all cams have the same features. Some are better than the others, some have more features than the other and some are ultra specific..... Lalani... the macro master, I would really like to lay my hands on her cam and filters.....hahahahah

So, a Challenge post, followed by a para graph on the kind of camera used, filter used, lights used, condition under which captured etc., should add as a bonus. For, I have reason to believe that some folks have captured some amazing pics using non hifi cams which need an acclaim for their photographic skill.

Even though, I am one of those who happen to rely a lot lot on potatoshops, like PSP, Photoshop and Photoimpact a lot and also love it very much, I feel for a challenge it should be a Big No.

Resize, crop, sharpen ........... should be the limit if at all since we are not going to a real life gallary and this is a web gallary and these softwares also help as web tools.

Enough said.....
