quesswho, I had a tough time figuring out the focal distance too. I never really got it working right, but I did find a couple of web sites that have a Depth of Field Calculator, you can find that at:
www.shuttercity.com
It seems that the film format has a lot to do with calculating DOF, and it does change quiet a bit depending on the film type you put in the calculator.
But I think the biggest thing is matching the camera's Focal Length with the F-Stop, Focal Distance (I think) is going to be the distance from the camera to the main object. The only problem with that is coming up with an accurate way to measure the distance.
Hmm... I think it might be time to take another look at Dr. Geep's measuring tutorial:)
Well, I'll keep you all updated on the progress of things:)
Oh, and quesswho that's a good looking image!

Thread: Cloth Dynamics - Some questions... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The only time I've really run into problems with the simulation is when I have a character sitting/lying on something. I tried running Vicki with HMANN's long skirt lying down on a couch... Poser truly didn't seem to like that. On the skirt, I normally just set the Hips, L & R Butt, Thighs, Shins (depending on the length). But again, that's the only time I've really seen any kind of problems.

Cool Tomsde! Thanks! I'll have to go and take a look at that.SamTherapy, I have been looking at getting a PoserWorld subscription, but you've put me over the edge. Thanks! :P You can never have too many buildings. :)
I did do a little test with the global lighting and I've posted the results in the gallery. It took forever and a day to render, but I think it was worth the time.

Tomsde, what lighting set is that? I'd be interested in taking a look at it, even if I have to re-install PPP. Oh, yeah... MachineClaw, I also found a pretty cool tut on setting up global lighting. I'm going to go through it tonight, but I thought you might be interested in it too. www.3d-cc.com/thirdeyefunction/dl-tutorials-globallight.htm Thanks - amon_g

Most of the problems with lighting that I've had in P5 is when a light is "off." Poser seems to go ape @#%! when that happens. I really haven't run into this problem much with SR2.1, but then again, I have gotten into the habit of deleting all of the default lights before adding a light set.

I saw the SWAY images on RDNA and I thought I recognized the HDRI stuff. That's when I said to myself, "Self, you've got to try and use that lighting setup one of these days." Now that it has been brought back to my attention, I just might have to give it a try tonight:)

I think you might be looking for the "Poser 4 Renderupgrade" by Shademaster. There is something in Free Stuff. Do a search for HDRI. I think that'll get you the results you're looking for. Hope this helps. - amon_g
Thread: Looking for Star Trek uniforms for Mike and Vicki (already checked 3Dposer.com) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'd check RDNA. They have a Star Commander (I think that's the name) pack that looks like the Star Trek uniforms from STII and as an added bonus they work well as Imperial uniforms:) The uniforms are for both Mike and Vicki. www.runtimedna.com Hope this helps, AMON_G

I've got a couple of short stories that if your interested. My friends and I are aspiring animators, so maybe we could trade stories for tips. Let me know. Thanks - Brent
