Thread: Confusion about when we're supposed to receive boxed set of P6... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Some of us paid for Overnight. And at Ero 52 it had better be here tomorrow or all H#ll will break loose.

Isn't it great that Renderosity has this great Poser FORUM and that they also provide a free GALLERY where you can post your pictures, for others to view.

" Pricing has been set with best possible rate so as to cover back end charges" So true... "Curious Labs is not a direct-sales company only." but it is a direct-sales company, that's what we are talking about. "Retail customers need pricing consistency" but you don't have that! "many other manufacturers" Who??? "We have tried our best to keep pricing fair worldwide" Your worldwide customers are pointing out that you have failed and the pricing is not fair. With all due respect and in no-way disparaging Katherine's good work but This answer says nothing and changes even less.

Poser 6 Standalone US$ 239 = NZ$ 324 ERO 219 = NZ$ 396 Yes folk that's a staggering $72.00 overcharged and Freight is $95.00 And believe me it's just as hard to earn a dollar down here, "Money, it's a crime Share it fairly, but don't take a slice of my pie Money, so they say Is the root of all evil today But if you ask for a rise, it's no surprise that they're giving none away"

I got stung by this also. Here in NZ our dollar is at a 20 yr high against the US dollar but NO I have to pay in Euros. Rip off! I wanted the Boxed Set but at 52 Eur shipping, that was more than I paid for Poser 6 (with discounts and rebates). Overnight, haha what a joke. There's no way that they could ship it to me in NZ overnight, so why the stupid shipping charges. Coupled to the poor Poser5 Mac integration, I'm Very disappointed now and somehow I think I will also be disappointed later. If it wasn't for the Shade bundle I wouldn't have raised to the bait at all.
Thread: Poser 5 and Mac OS X? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
And the Tkinter problem is not OS X, but Poser using the old OS 9 version of Python/Tkinter which long ago stopping being supported. So it's in CL hands to fix this. Other than that Poser 5 works fine on OS X and we are all looking forward to 6.

The Poser Police are knocking on your door!!! Caught in possession of a VIATWAS, throw away the key...
Thread: In no way am I attempting to diminish the achievesments of anyone :) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
'Is there art which does not spark emotion?' Sure there is, many great minds have tried to define at a concrete level what "Art" is or is not, every-time someone does then there are works that break that definition. Here something else to break. To me "Art" is the result of an artist sharing their "Vision", good art is well executed and facilitates that sharing. If your vision is VITWAS and that's what you achieve, excellent art. If your vision is, like the early cubists something new or defines itself by testing bounds and you achieve that vision then excellent art. If your vision is abstract and inaccessible, and you maintain that in your work, then you have achieved art. If your vision is emotional, rational or technical and you capture those qualities in the work then you have artistic success. Far to much thinking. Going back to banging rocks together now.
Thread: What do you say? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, the question is a bit ambiguous, but it's positive praise of the work... This is the Poser Forum so I'm talking about work with a significant portion of other peoples work, models and textures. But we all know that it's not unrealistic to spend days on setting-up, rendering and then post-work. So likewise a large amount of personal toil. I guess renders are closer to photo's that drawings in that sense. I just feel uncertain about claiming a Poser work as My Own. As in "Yes, I did that". Not a copyright issue more of a personal feeling of what's mine and what's someone else's praise. Where do you draw the line?
Thread: G4 450Mhz to 1.25Ghz: How big a speed boost in Poser 4?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
With the limited upgrade ability of the new Macmini, I also would recommend jumping up to the G5. Of all the things I do on my Macs rendering is the most demanding. Look at a G5 iMac with 2GB, if you can't spring for a TowerOfPower. Don't worry, I'm still going to buy a Macmini but not for rendering;-) To answer your question, yes you will notice an improvement, but this is a how long is a piece of string question. We can't quantify your improvement.
Thread: Poser5 for Mac, how's it work? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm using a iMac G5 and the only "problem" I've had is the "Lack of RAM" hang. Once I upped my RAM it's been great. The biggest problem is between the Keyboard and the chair.
Poser 5 on OS X makes it clear we mac users are the poor country cousins.
With the current tools at their disposal, it's sad to see the state of Poser on the Mac. It runs and feels like a poor port.
The Python Tkinter problem will resolve if Poser is properly migrated to MachO. It is due to development being stopped on the old OS 9 version of Tkinter.
I'm hopeful that with the current changes and "The Apple Renaissance" we will again see a concerted effort to modernise Poser. Fingers crossed X.

LOL, its not hard to see that this work is an original work from a very original mind, careful pussy don't stick your Klaus in.
I take my red, pom-pom hat off to you!

You asked for opinions and here mine.
I think this person is pulling your chain folks.
What have we got here?
Vicky? x 3, Hair x 3, in Std Poses, in a Std Pool Set with Standard lighting.
We are talking a dozen or so clicks, after spending??? lots of money.
All this says to me is that someone has a big fat wallet and wants accolades for spending it. These ladies look like clip art, I've seen them all before. It says to me "look at me, I've put 3 bits of other people art together, how clever am I?"
If this is your Art then keep it in your gallery, it's a waste the forum space.
If I'm wrong, Welcome, you have lots to learn about Poser, get on with it and have fun.
Thread: 'Best' Poser PC System? Conflicting stories. Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
LOL, so there is no Best computer for Poser 5. It's like using an 18 wheeler to tow a trailer with its butt dragging on the ground. It may go faster but it's not solving the real problem. What we need is a rewrite that makes the most of the modern chips, running the modern OS's.
Maybe Daz is right in developing Studio, maybe we do need good old fashion competition to get this trailer a new set of wheels.
At least we all have "feature" parity.
Three things endure Faith, Hope and Charity.
