That's what E-On has said - orders will be filled in the order that they were received. Hopefully that is precisely the case!

In YOUR opinion. Since DAZ sells Vue, WHY would it be common sense to think it's wrong to advocate it? It's NOT. There was nothing wrong with promoting Vue since they sell it. If aeilkema were to say "buy Vue, Bryce sucks" then yeah, he would be wrong. Common sense and common decency? I think not. It is your opinion - please do not expect the rest of us to subscribe. You of course can go into a lengthy explanation of WHY it is common sense and I can do so with the opposite opinion. Let us just agree to disagree and leave it at that. Megalodon

"You probably should have picked up on this understood position' ahead of time." Yes of course, we MUST know what is in the head of each DAZ moderator. ;) aeilkema, I think you hit the nail on the head: Sounds more like some moderator is creating his/her own rules. Megalodon

Thread: Claims about Vue 5 Infinite on E-On's website... | Forum: Vue
It's just that some people think they KNOW exactly what E-On is trying to sell when they really don't know. I understand what Adam is saying - and he may be correct - but we won't know until the product ships and/or and E-On representative responds. I'm betting that this is a new way of dealing with "instancing" since we are seeing millions of objects being rendered without (as far as I can tell) a huge render time hit. You really can't do this in WCS, WB or even Lightwave for that matter. In LW we have HD Instance but even that takes a decent time to render if you've got lots of objects - not as much as if they were actual 3D objects, but it still adds time. I am VERY much looking forward to getting into Infinite - it's looking promising, moreso than Vue4Pro did at the time. We shall see... :) Megalodon

One little item that has been left out: World Construction Set has a VERY steep learning curve (as does World Builder) whereas the Vue product line is MUCH easier to understand. I've used World Builder, World Construction Set and Vue - Vue is by far the easiest program to learn hands down. Regarding the so-called instancing of objects. The fact is... at least right now... that none of us here (beta testers not withstanding) know exactly how this system works. Until we get to "play" with it ourselves, we won't really know how easy it is. It may be completely different from WCS and do things that WCS can't. The fact is... WE DON'T KNOW. So is a short response to Adam, you really don't know if that particular technology IS something that WCS or others offer. But I do think it's a pretty safe bet that it will be significantly easier than WCS. We must wait and see. Megalodon
Thread: Maxon Body Paint vs Deep Paint 3D and Deep UV? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I bought BodyPaint2 but haven't had the time to use it. At CGFocus.com there is an article about Framestore (the guys who did Walking with Dinosaurs) switching over and using it. I guess if THEY think it's good enough to use in production, it's good enough for me! :) Megalodon
Thread: Vue 5 Infinite To ship March 14, 2005! | Forum: Vue
Well... I was one of "those" who said they would be waiting until Vue 5 Infinite shipped and was tested "by the masses." I would not be buying it until the initial bugs were worked out - if ever. Well... I'm eating my words. Looking at the images, animations and feature list... I already pre-prdered. Can't believe it but I did. Of course the $149 upgrade pricing kinda helped too! :) March 14th can't get here soon enough! Megalodon
Thread: Modules to be added for 5 and new name for Vue Pro 5 | Forum: Vue
Brian, That may very well be the case, though I preferred Ozone as a direct plugin within Lightwave. If it IS possible to export animatable sky info from Pro or Infinite to LW, it's still an extra step outside of LW. Most of the time I use stills of skies from VuePro and comp them with our architectural models - but sometimes animated (and volumetric) Ozone skies are preferrable. Then again... if it is the only way possible... AND... if the clouds are as great as Terragen2 looks to be, it may be worth it! :) Megalodon

Hey bonnyclump.... simmer down! :) I've had my issues with Vue4 Pro, but it appears that Vue 5 Infinite is the next step AFTER Vue4 Pro. Why would you feel like a sucker? And the upgrade to 5 Infinite from 4 Pro is only $149 - that sounds like a REAL GOOD deal. I think I will probably end up getting this as soon as it comes out rather than waiting to see how it works. And concerning the "render stars acrosss a network" bug, I thought that Petshoo (I think) said that it WAS working. What was the latest reply from E-On about this? It's a shame that EVERY time I see your posts, they are ALWAYS negative. I had posted weeks ago for you to list the shortcomings in a professional matter, but you did not respond with a list - just the same negative posting in other threads. I can now see why everyone here is tired of "listening" to you. Apparently people here have found ways to work around the problems - perhaps it is now time for you to do so. Then again, why not try the new Bryce from DAZ? I'm NOT the biggest supporter of E-On - I just found out that they are discontinuing development on Ozone for Lightwave. This is a shame, since I was hoping for improved clouds like those of the upcoming Terragen2. Oh well, too bad for me and everyone else who was hoping to upgrade Ozone2 to version 3. That being said... I'm still looking forward to these new Vue releases - particularly Infinite. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised! Vue is still the easiest landscape generation program "out there" and hopefully they will continue to improve it AND address bugs quickly. We shall see. Megalodon

You're not being realistic bonnyclump. I have Lightwave - version 7.5 had (I believe) four service releases. It is no longer being updated. All resources are working on updating version 8. Yes, there are still bugs in version 7.5. Will they be fixed? No. Perhaps another service release will appear for Vue4 Pro - perhaps you should ask E-On? And yes... we can get into the whole debate on buggy software and it's the customer who gets screwed, yada-yada-yada and we have crappy software. I'm outa that debate! :) I will be waiting to see how well Vue Infinite will perform. I personally hope it has better atmospheres - something like what Terragen 2 will have. I'm beginning to understand why the majority on this forum become exasperated when you post. Please direct the constant E-On bashing to their tech support. Everyone already knows your position here. Thank You! Megalodon
Thread: Vue Forum and Censorship? | Forum: Vue
Well Xenophonz... Thank you for contributing non-constructive remarks when only constructive remarks were requested. Maturity and professionalism in the responses were requested - you have provided niether. "Not as we are instructed/ordered to. It's a free country." You were NOT instructed OR ordered to do - it was a REQUEST! Perhaps you do not understand the difference or just wish to create confrontation? Regardless, the point is obviously wasted. "I am perfectly willing to be positive -- when that's the spirit in which the matter is broached." Yes... obviously. Re-reading my initial post, I see nothing that is directly negative to ANYONE including E-On and wished only to re-open the discussion on a mature level. But please, re-read it and pull something negative out of the hat since that is apparently ALL that you wanted to say. I can see that it is virtually impossible to continue the discussion of Pros and Cons of the software. Here we are at post 21 and all I've seen is one item from Bonnyclump on the "Con" side but no backing it up with info. And Petshoo has already said that it CAN be done. So that is that. It's a pity that something as simple as a discussion on the Pro's and Con's of Vue cannot be conducted with maturity and professionalism. There are apparently too many people with steadfast opinions and those who do not want to answer questions with helpful info but rather with negative barbs. Oh well....
