Cool!! So many times one sees renders where a model is just stuck in the water with the water just a flat sheet of water. And your image shows wonderfully that it needn't be that way. Very impressive!
And here's what you guys have helped me create! My earlier image showed the possibility, but (sigh) I stayed up, tweaked various noise parameters, and came up with this, and I'm extremely pleased with it.
Thank you both!!!

Check it out! Definitely getting there. Have to quit soon and get back to it tomorrow. Really. But -- WOW!! And thank you SO much.
Btw, switching my surface over to ClothPlane helped too!!!

Well I couldn't wait. I had to play with it just a bit. And -- Major Progress! Thank you guys again...

Thank you both so much. I can hardly wait to go play with it again. It will have to wait until tomorrow, I think. A bit under the weather today. Fever and tired and all that. Sigh.
But I can HARDLY WAIT!!!! I've been crudely making ripples with the morphing tool. Multiple morphs. Concentric circles. Hard work and not very satisfying result either.

Yah. Bit under the weather this moring and my brain is all fuzzy.
Here's a snapshot.
I did go off and play with Wave and the Ground. Hmm. Yes, I got it to do ripples, but not "tight" enough to fit in the box above. More like circular waves, not ripples. If I reduce the wave length to try to make ripples I could use in the box, it goes all choppy.

Nevermind. Just being brain dead. The contest is from another site altogether. And, yeah, I found it...
Thread: "Catch Lights" for eyes? | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Wow, folks. I am overwhelmed. You guys are so incredibly ahead of me and my feeble knowledge of Poser materials that I'm stunned.
Thank you for the great information though. I shall have to read and reread and re-reread, and I will almost certainly have to ask additional questions.
Thank you again.

Hmm. Upon looking at Cornea and Eyes, I'm unclear about how to tweak reflectivity.
Here's Cornea:
And here's Eyes:
It looks suspiciously to me like there's an attempt at built-in sparkle for the eyes.
Soooo -- I'm gonna try tweaking Specular, maybe Roughness too. Maybe even read the manual a bit?
Any suggestions from here?

Well, wow. More information than I know what to do with.
RedPhanton, what sorts of sample, other than the resulting image? What I've done for that image was to put a large Point Light behind the camera. Dim, but it shows up in the eyes. My shaders are standard, off the shelf, whatever came with the model Pauline. It never occurred to me to look in that area.
hborre, the only material room shaders for this model are cornea and eye. I shall play with reflectivity for those and see what I get.
My wish is to do this in a manner mimicing what happens in a Physical Studio, where catch lights are frequently just a small "catch light" placed behind the camera, more or less. And now I'm thinking of a "catch light" *plus* tweaking the cornea and/or eye reflectivity settings.
Thank you both!
I can post the shaders if needed, but I'm thinking that you guys have already given me everything I need on this one!

Thread: Redefine Origin of Prop? | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Ah. Thank you so much for all that! I shall have to play with the Joint Editor. I had suspected it would be the answer but could not figure it out. Meanwhile, it also turns out that taking the prop into the Setup Room and turning it into a Figure *also* has the side effect of somehow resetting the origin as wish, with all the subparts showing up properly as belonging to the Figure. However, I'd rather have it be a simple prop, not a figure, so I'll definitely try playing around with the Joint Editor.
Thank you again.

Hmm. I tried that but it has a zillion sub-pieces which suddenly become unavailble in the hierarchy window. They show up in the Materials room, just not in the Hierarchy window.
Thread: Atmosphere Volume Blacking Out Scene | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Wow, hborre! I did a quick read. And will have to go back and do a long read, maybe a couple of times. Very interesting.
Thread: Atmosphere Volume Blacking Out Scene | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
hborre -- I have no clue what it means to contain my scene within a Render box or Ground prop. Or to use a confining box or sphere. But it sounds absolutely fascinating and I definitely want to know more. Me? I just start with more-or-less the original Default New scene, tarted up just a wee bit. Ground, Model, Light. Target ball. That's it. Within that context, turning on Atmosphere Volume gets me a beautiful hazy look (except when using Infinite only), but it's for the whole scene. Nothing confined about it.
Can you tell me more? Or point me somewhere to read?
Thread: Atmosphere Volume Blacking Out Scene | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Ah... It seems that I recently changed my New Scene to use an Infinite light instead of a spot light, and that seems to be what is causing the issue. It appears that an infinite light is cancelled out completely using Atmosphere Volume with the default values. Turning on a spotlight shows the fog...
Is this a bug in infinite lighting and atmosphere, or am I missing something?
