Thanks for the feedback everyone--it's much appreciated. MM, the wood mat is from Mayang with a procedural bump applied and a bit of playing with reflections etc, applied to a 2D plane. I just wanted something to contrast with the board/pieces a bit.

Forgot to mention my machine speces--it's a P4, 2.2GHz, 1 GB RAM, running Bryce5 on WinXP Home. Shadow, I realize it's an old and relatively simple file. At least that way, we won't be rendering something for hours on end :) This way, it's quick and easy to do.
