Thanks for your continued responses Peggy :)   Sounds like you have pretty good info where Vue is concerned.   Glad to hear you didn't have any problem downloading what is probably a larger version.   I have DSL and figure downloading Vue 6 should go ok.  I will check into the book.  Normally I install, jump right in and start experimenting.....the learning as you go method..   Vue is so user friendly, that this method of learning works very well.  However, I'm sure the book will be helpful for figuring out some of the more intricate functions found in Vue 6, as well as helping you figure out all the nuances.   The new lighting features will probably be my biggest challenge. 

Thanks Peggy :)  Took a look at the gallery.  Very nice stuff.....especially DOM1.  I love the oil painting look that vue can achieve with landscapes.  A lot more photo realistic images as well.  Looks like Vue 6 will go in my cart, but can I wait???  Well......I've waited this long!  I'm still using Vue 4 :)   I have little patience for bugs I'm afraid.   Are you using Vue 6?  Did you download it or have them send it snail mail?

Does this mean that I should not plunk out $200 for Vue 6 Esprit ?  I have an AMD Athlon 64 processor 3200+ 2.2 GHz with 2 G of Ram and ATI Radeon 9800 video card. 

I currently have Vue 4 and love it.  The new version looks wonderful, but I want to be able to import Poser 5 figures from time to time and I don't want a slow boat.   

I cannot find a demo version of the software so I can test it.  

I came here to find out if anyone has tried downloaded the thing, vs getting the boxed version.  But now I wonder if I shouldn't just wait.

Ok.....I skipped SP2 because of the issues that their "security" mess was causing about half the people I know.  I use Zone Alarm, Trend Micros antivirus and Ad Aware SE Plus for spyware capture.  I am thinking of getting Vista at some point, but do want to hear from those who have Vista: Does Poser and Vue work on it or not?    I know DAZ Bryce 6 does.  Aside from the interesting UI, what are the benefits? I have an AMD Athlon 64; 2 gigs ram and an ATI Raedon 9800.

Thank you Victoria....I'll take some time over the holdiay to get "caught up".  One thing that is pretty important to me is the ability for Poser and Vue to interface successfully.   Can you tell me  if Poser 7 and Vue 6 work together as well or better than  P5 and Vue 4 do?   I thank you for your reponses and wish you a very Happy Holiday :)

Thanks krazik! Sorry about the "one star" rating on the cockroach. I lost my temper. I'm sure it's really quite a wonderful cockroach :) I think CL should have burned another CD for content. I suspect the bandwidth is costing a lot more than that extra CD would have.

They forgot 152mb of content!!?? That's quite an oversight! You're right.....it does say Tuesday night for the freebies. Guess I should cut them some slack until then :) I don't even have Poser 6, but the freebies seem to work fine in P5.

Now this is a great sale! I picked up 4 of the $.99 items that I missed earlier, purchased a regular item for one of the $.99 items and got to pick 5 free items....all of which I can use and would have purchased. Total cost: $9.55 for 10 items. Good deal!

I think Dave-So hit the nail on the head so to speak :) I really don't need these fish, but I have a feeling that some day.....when I do one of those play projects and need a "prehistoric" character, these will come in handy :) Stefan's creations are worth getting, even if you don't need them!! :)

I started with P5 and never had P4. Like you Tiari, I tried to get it to do things it was probably not designed to do. A good many of Poser's problems are user related I think :) But I got past most of those issues and now P5 works really well. I just don't have the time right now, to deal with new bugs or new stupidity on my part :) I figure if I wait awhile, they will eventually patch P6 a time or two and then all I have to deal with is my stupidity....not Poser's :)
