Howdy Joe, This from *http://www.ipodlounge.com* What fonts are used in the iPods interface? The 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G iPods (incl. HP) use the font Chicago. The iPod minis font is called Espy Sans and was used in the Newton MessagePad and Apples eWorld online service. The iPod Photo uses Myriad.Thread: need Jeanie hair from 3dcommune | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Logan, In an ideal world every readme would be written is crystalline clear plain English :-). However you have to understand there are a couple of problems that crop up... 1) English may be the lingua franca of a large portion of the internet but for a lot of people it's, at best, a second language. 2) Not only the words themselves but the concepts behind them require understanding. There was one freebie producer who put a "non-commercial" restriction on his stuff. All he wanted to do was stop someone from selling his models but instead had prevented people from using them in renders they wanted to sell. Fortunately his English was somewhat better than my Japanese & we managed to fix it. As to a "boilerplate" readme. It's been discussed before. The problem it's not just a matter of share/don't share, there are as many shades of grey as there are freebie makers. Just some of the possible headers of the "free share" category are daunting... free share free share use commercially free share use commercially but ask me first free share don't use commercially free share but ask me first free share but include this readme

Just by way of being the resident wet blanket, a readme must specifically say that redistribution is permitted. You can't assume permission in absence. Think of it in terms of this scenario... Parents go out for the evening & jokingly tell the kids, "Now don't set the house on fire while we're gone". Does that mean they can burn the garage down?

".....The big news. Zygote has created a new company "DAZ Productions" that is 100% focused on developing Poser-related products. DAZ is made up of the same people that have been in the Poser-development division of Zygote for the past 3 years. You can expect the same quality and service as well as an increased selection of products."

"Victoria 2.0 is definitely our most challenging and time consuming product to date. She contains over 100 new morph targets to change face shape and expressions, and includes several options for tweaking physique, age, weight, height, ethnicity and more! This is a real steal. Get her while shes HOT!"

dlk30341, There is only one real drawback that I can see.... they are selling pirated software :-) This is contained in the "fine print" they call their Terms of Service.... "7a: You are not permitted to duplicate or illegally distribute any product purchased from Buysusa. You agree to abide by the End User License Agreement contained within those products. You assume full responsibility for complying with all copyright laws. All products offered by Buysusa are fully compliant with sec. 117 of the US copyright laws. Buysusa reserves the right to refuse any customer for any reason. You understand that in order for Buysusa to make you a copy (OEM) of any software, you acknowledge that you are the legal owner of this same software, and are looking to just make a new copy (OEM) for archival (backup) purposes only. You also agree to destroy all copies of the software in the event it is ever no longer voluntarily in your possession. You understand that only the licensed owner (with a valid serial number, where applicable) of the various software found on Buysusa may use the services located here. You also acknowledge that the software you have was obtained legally and that you have the legal right to request this backup (oem) copy to be made. If you obtained your version though any other means, including any pirated versions, or if you do not already legally own the same version of the software requested, then you may not use this service. you also agree to hold Buysusa harmless for any damages that may occur for your failure to follow the U.S. Copyright and other laws as they pertain to the backup (OEM software) you are requesting.

Howdy folks, Legally I don't see a problem with using a tutorial to make something for sale, provided there are no restrictions against it in the tutorial itself. A tutorial is, after all a set of instructions, like a repair manual or even a recipe. You wouldn't expect to buy a cookbook & then find out you couldn't use the apple pie recipe to make something for your kids' bake sale would you? Does that mean I think it's okay? No. I do think it's extremely rude, especially without notifying or asking the tutorial writer 1st. Of course I'm one of those walking anachronisms who thinks manners actually make a difference :-) What I would suggest is to include the following (feel free to steal & adapt as needed :-).... This tutorial was created so people could understand the principles behind it & use that understanding to further their skills. It is NOT supposed to be an end in itself. If you are planning to use the output of this tutorial, as is, in a commercial product.. don't. If you do I promise you that there will be a free version, as close to yours as legally possible, pimped on every online store, forum, message board, email list, and usenet newsgroup that you've ever THOUGHT of selling on.... Have a nice day :-)

" Who hired nukepirates.com?"
Curious Labs hired nukepirates in 2001. You would have to ask them why.
"...It could be eBay..."
eBay doesn't do proactive anti-piracy investigations, however they do have a separate group (VeRO) that "fast-tracks" complaints from registered rights holders & removes infringing material.
"...it could be a consortium of companies who make digital products..."
No such animal exists. edited to correct the inevitable typos Message edited on: 04/22/2005 12:22
