getting banned anywhere is not difficult, just do something on a regular basis that is against the TOS and ignore the moderators when they tell you not to, getting unbanned generally is as simple as promising not to do what you did to get banned and sticking by that promise.
Thread: Rotations and translations on hip vs.body | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
the original reason that this was important was for creating poses, hip translations will be saved in poses so unless you want the pose to move from the center position you dont want to use the hip, but if say you are creating poses where two figures need to be interacting or the figure needs to be interacting with an object such as sitting in a chair, using the hip to rotate and translate would be a good thing because it will provide absolute positioning for the figure. if you are just moving the figure around for a scene you are setting up for your own scene and not for a pose to save than its not an issue really.
Thread: Convert Daz Character to Poser File? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
V4 is a poser figure so no need to do any conversion or tranferring. it should open fine in poser, unless it was saved in a DS format, which would be strange. can you give more info on what the precise problem you are having is?

No there isnt yet a dynamic cloth creation plugin for studio yet unfortunately, though one has been promised by optitex. but all the tools needed to create content other than dynamics are included in DS4 Pro no need for any other tools.

Quote - If one pays all that money for the top notch DAZ Studio 4 thing and pays for the membership and all, will selling created content on DAZ3D then ever pay for ones initial investment? Assuming getting back twice what was paid as being profit.
yes absolutely, I only have one very inexpensive product for genesis out so far but it has already sold surprisingly well.

Good luck with that :) I made the mistake of preordering Poser 5, won't make that mistake again. Im sure I will buy PP 2012 but I will wait and see how it goes for others first.

8 years on, 4  versions later  (all more stable) and you won't let it go? thats a real grudge right there.Â
Â
dude, thats like still blaming Ford for the Edsel...
Â
Nope no grudge at all, if I had a grudge I wouldn't have baught P6, P7, and P8 but I didn't preorder them, I just made it a rule after that not to preorder because due to that experience I prefer to wait and see how stable a program is before plunking my money down on it.

No it wasn't intended on being an unannounced extended beta, the intentions all along was to offer a version of studio that was free as the primary base, so that anyone can try 3D, and they will still be offering a free version, there are no plans to discontinue that option as far as I know, the new free version is not yet out though they currently have a version that is currently free. as for why not just offer a fully packed program. well because some people dont want or need that and would prefer not to go through the expense if all they want is the basics, and a huge amount of people have been able to use the free version to see if they like working in 3D and than build up piece by piece if they can't afford all the bells and whistles at once. Now they are simply giving more options up front.Thread: Strange goings on at Daz | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't always believe rumours, , while a few people did have serial number issues it was only a couple and as far as I know has been cleared up with all of them and generally the response has been positive from advanced and pro purchasers.
Pro does come with the complete Content Creators Tools as well as goZbridge, 3D Bridge for Photoshop, FBX exporter, Texture Atlas, and of course studio advanced
Thread: P9/PP2012 Genesis compatability | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - grabbed from above...
The DAZ|Studio 4 FAQ states, and I quote,
Quote - Is the GenesisTM series compatible with Poser?
The Genesis series of figures relies on powerful new technologies that are currently exclusive to DAZ Studio 4. However, the new file format that the Genesis series utilizes is an open, ASCII format that can be interpreted easily.Time for the dumbest question of the week!
I have seen talk about a file that has the Genesis character in it (sort of like a Cr2 I assume) that has an extension something like .dsf....So if DAZ states the file " file format that the Genesis series utilizes is an open, ASCII format", has anybody bothered to try to open the file with a text editor?
If it is just an ascii text file then it is going to be a lot easier to read the file via a script and convert to a poser .cr2 file I would think. But elsewhere I thought I read that the file was compiled.
which is it?
Â
Â
I think there was some confusion from some people who assumed the new .dsf format was the same as the old .daz scene file format which was complied, the .dsf format is definately open ASCII format.

Quote - Huh. In terms of raw features, it actually looks like the Poser approach to weight mapping went a step further than DAZ did - I don't see that D|S 4 can do weightmapped bulge settings, which tbh is a pretty huge deal.

the Studio4 rigging does have weight mapped bulge settings.

you might want to take a look in the C4D forum Right here at Renderosity, there is a wealth of knowlege there, and for basics of modeling in C4D C4D Cafe is a treasure trove of video tutorials from very simple to advanced modeling techniques.Thread: Before I start modeling for Poser... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
yep the simplest way to import and export from C4D while preserving point order grouping and material grouping is with riptide. you would shudder to hear the way we used to have to do it before spanki developed riptide (involving uv mapper or the truely agonizing process of using poser's own grouping tool) C4D's native import export does not preserve point order and only allows one to export one type of grouping and splits seams on that grouping.

excellent :) while I am of course very well versed in C4D Im not really up on Marvelous designer so even I would learn something from such a tutorial.

how does being audacious actually help anyone learn? How about doing some tuturials for people, that seems like it would go a lot further. I have done tutorials from time to time and find that people are very receptive to learn things if they are explained to them, for example when I did my Spanish Princess outfit I documented the construction process, and posted it as a tutorial. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
